Well I'm in the right area (between sturgis & coldwater) but not in the market right now. maybe later this summer or fall when/if we can find a place in the country with some room to grow.

Awwww! Y'all are all so sweet!

Thanks for all the good thoughts and wishes. It must have worked because I did not end up with a headache like I thought I would. I won't know any results from the tests for about a week. The first test was the hardest... I had to have a patch over my right eye and look at the center of a computer screen. The screen had a flashing checkerboard pattern and while I was allowed to blink I could not close my eye for any length of time. I know it does not sound hard but it was. This test lasted about 20 minutes just for one eye, and then a repeat for the other eye. I don't think I will have any problem sleeping tonight.

DH went to walk around The Lakes Mall while I was having the tests done and when he picked me up I asked him if he missed me. He said "Yes, but I was able to walk faster than usual." The stinker. We did have a nice time the rest of the day.

Laura, I'm happy your day went well. Everyone had been concerned about you, which is one more nice thing about this thread. Many wonderful friendships are forming.

Cut down a Siberian elm tree that constantly fills my garden with small limbs and literally thousands of small trees. It also casts to large a shadow which wasn't good for optimum growth of my garden plants. I knew it was a large tree but once it was down you really can appreciate just how large is really was. It's going to take me more than a few days to get it all cut up. Fortunately Hope stepdad heats with wood so it will go to good use. Thirty years ago when I'd cut a tree that size down I'd cut the entire thing up at once. Now I'm going to have to work at it.

Yum, yum! Tell me if you find more! We'd like to go up to Mio when the morels are up.

Sorry, I didn't get on the computer yesterday. I took about an hour first thing in the morning, and went out and got another 20 or so.
Then I spent the rest of the day getting my early potatoes hilled-up. Now I'm waiting for my late potatoes to be shipped, so we'll have potatoes through the winter.
I've got to finish my coop soon, But then I've also got to get my root celler built too. Too many projects and too little time.

Good morning everyone! Looks like it is going to start cooling down today and be cold tomorrow...just in time for the weekend

I came home yesterday and my DH had the chicken run all fenced in and covered...looks wonderful. I did a little work inside the coop...painted a tree where the nesting boxes are and also painted some numbered sheep jumping over a fence by the roosts

I'll try to get some pictures posted soon

The girls are going to paint some butterflies on the walls today after school.

Opa - you'll be happy to know that we will be changing our roosts to sit flat (2x4s)

We had to take them down when we decided to insulate, so DH is putting the back up to lay flat.

I hope we can get our babies in there this weekend, they are running out of room in the brooder...amazing how fast they grow! We try to take them out in the yard everyday for exercise and they LOVE it! It's so funny watching them fly around.

Have a great and blessed day!

Are you still seeing checkerboards?

Hope your tests come back with the best results possible.

My DSIL is going in Monday (also my birthday, just don't tell her) for a total mastectomy and historectomy... she's gonna be a mess for a while.. I'll be doing her gardens and chickens and other work for her while she's laid up.... hopefully I'll find time to do some of my own work too.

And lastnight I found out one of my favorite singers died. He had the deepest bass voice and I loved to hear him sing. So I'm realllllllly bumming today.

Thanks Opa! I have some very old apple trees out front and two years ago we found a few and none last year. Hopefully, this year I can just walk out the front door and find some! Maybe the hubby can take the kids and go in search of them this weekend and I can have some peace and quiet!

Love it when he does that! I don't know what to do with myself.

Sillychicken - Where is Norvell MI?

It's a secret.... somewhere in southern, lower, mid, MI... but off to the left a little.

Actually, it is between Jackson and Ann Arbor, Grasslake and Brooklyn. Don't blink or sneeze or you will miss it! We're not far from Michigan International Speedway... we can hear the race cars on race weekend and the traffic gets really ugly.
