HBH - Congrats on finding that friend, or being found, I suppose. That's really neat.

Two sick kids and a husband who is working late are making for a very quiet house here tonight. I think I'm going to turn on some of my favorite music and try a new recipe for a late dinner. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be ready just as the husband gets home.

I let one of the Narragansett hens out to free range today while the other hen and the tom remained locked up. Of course, while she was free to, she didn't range far from the coop and temporary run without her friends which is exactly what I'd hoped for. I'll continue to let one hen out during the day (trying to alternate which one) for the next week or two before letting two out at once and then finally moving on to all three. I also tested their eggs today and we have fertility -- well, the larger of the two hens has fertility, but that's a start. She also laid it in the nest box for once. I'll start leaving the eggs out there now and hopefully we'll have a broody turkey soon.

What a neat story HBH:).....you must be just itching for Sunday to get here. Hard to imagine what we did before facebook or the internet. It took me roughly 2 years to find my biological father 18 years ago using nothing more than my local library and what I could remember from what my mother told me before she passed. Congratulations for you both!

HBH - I believe things happen for a reason.

I moved from the south to MI for college. A few years later, I was married and delivering a baby - in Michigan. My doc was running late, so the nurses called "the intern," which turned out to be a girl I went to highschool with in Missouri! Coincidence, right? So, after the baby was in pre-school, we moved further north. I was recently given the name of a prospective business investor - who lives in my Up-Noth town.... Yep. THAT "girl".....

Good Morning!!!!

That is so cool to reconnect with people after years of not knowing where they are. The internet is a great resource for that.

Love the coop pictures everyone!

Got a lot done so far today. Trying to upload pictures of our chicks. Will post when I am successful

David and I are currently working on a ten year old home for the new owners. One of the projects we will eventually be doing is removing this door. Anyone want to buy it?
