This morning before I headed for the job I went to Livingston Feed and wouldn't you know that had just gotten a new shipment of chicks. Welsummer, Buff Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex, Delewares, Salmon Favorelles, Marans, Barred Rocks, Black Jersey Giants and all kinds of ducks and even some geese. I've done my duty, you've been warned.

Jason,the chicks at Livingston Feed are $3.03-3.28. They also have white Leghorns, White Rocks, Light Bramas and Silver Laced Wyandottes. It's 70 miles from Howell to Nashville. If you want something I can pick them up and bring them to you when I come for those layers.

Anybody have hatching eggs in Mid-Michigan (Lansing, St. Johns, Alma, Greenville, Ionia -ish areas) that I simply cannot live without?

The bator bug bit me and I need

to plan ahead for refilling it when these turkey eggs hatch in a couple of weeks.

Of particular interest are Standard Cochin (would LOVE Partridge or Blue, but am open to others), Buckeye, good production-type Delaware, Barnvelder, Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Cubalaya, and Chantecler.

A 4-H'er in our county just got some to sell at fair this year, it will be a first! Their eggs are so gorgeous, it would almost be worth it!! I think my husband would have a heart attack though!

Good evening everyone. Been a long time since I posted to this thread. Got 20 meat chicks today and 6 runner ducklings. I'm raising the ducklings for my neighbors until they get their new house and pen built. Otherwise enjoying the weather and trying to get over this stupid cold I got last week.

Hello all!
Today i tore down Fort Knox and put up a hot wire fence. I got a deliciously sick sense of glee when the beagle zapped herself on it, and then I sat and waited and waited and waited and waited for the Golden and the pit to hit the fence- but they are too smart. They wont even attempt to go near the fence while I am watching...so, I will wait.

I planted cucumbers and beans today. That gives me tomatoes, peppers, peas, cukes, and beans. I may put in some more- depending on what mood hits me when I am near the started veggies. YUM- cant wait until everything is growing in.

I sure hope everyone had a great day.

The forecast for tomorrow sure sounds great. While I'd like to be relaxing and enjoying the sun I be out working in it. Still that isn't all bad either. Sure beats the cold and rain.

As you can tell my avatar once again depicts SE with a mustache. I was contemplating shaving mine and thought Sam Elliot's picture without a mustache would be a good was to see if I'd like how I'd look without one. I've worn one almost continually since 1965 and I'm don't think anyone would know me if I shaved.
