Heck with husband! I'm home and he's not. He'll be in air conditioned office for today. If I venture outside, I need a cool place to come to. I really do hate humidity. Oh, did I say that already?

And since I'm repeating myself......this bears repeating, since no one even noticed it the first time I said it. I'M GONNA BE A GRANDMA AGAIN!!! My son has two adorable lil girls and is expecting again. Baby due in Dec. Since I have 5 grand daughters and only 1 grand son and he's 15, we're hoping for a sweet lil boy. But, we'll love another girl.

Congrats on the new grandbaby on the way!!!

Has anyone noticed the huge mosiqutoes out already. We started getting swarmed last night.

I agree the humidity stinks!! We cleaned and checked out the air yesterday and got it going. Boy does it feel nice in the house.

Chickflick! Congratulations on the new baby. We will think blue for ya! I think grandchildren are WAY more fun than their parents were. I'm so glad to see them come. . . glad to see them go home. I think that is why God gives little children to young people.

Ellen, has Aiden smuggled that buff pullet into bed with him yet?

Gotta go sort out chicks to see who is left. Anyone wanting any Ameraucana cockerels, I have NINE silvers and SIX wheatens, so far. . .I agree that it is the year of the cockerel. . .

Yep! That is the same bugger we kept shooing away from the coop.

So far it doesn't look like he has come back today, but I'll show the site you linked to BF so we can be prepared if and when he does come back.

We normally wouldn't have the air on yet, but being 8 months pregnant, my hubby took pitty on me and turned the system over to air from the heat! It feels so nice in here today!!!

We don't have a roofed run (it is covered in welded wire), so I went out today and put an old white sheet over the top of part of it. The girls are so happy in the shade.

Our girls are 8 weeks old today. This am when I went to let them out, I couldn't see ANY of them. I was so scared. I went and looked in through the windows and found ALL 10 of them roosting on top of the 2' x 1' nesting box!!

I don't know how they all fit on it. I guess it goes to show that the 12" of roost per bird is just a suggestion! lol!
I guess when hubby gets home we are going to work on installing the roosts and poop boards!!

That is funny FFC. Friday when I went to close up the coop that the 7 and 6 week old chicks are in I just walked in gave them fresh water and when I turned around out of the corner of my eye there was something black and big up high near the ceiling. First thought RACOON!! Then I turned the light on to see 3 black bantam chicks roosting on the cord to the heat lamp. I couldn't belive they were up that high, over 5 feet up.

I hope everyone is staying cool and drinking lots of water if you are outside in the sun. It's not bad in the shade if you can catch the small breeze.

I just knew it! Ok, his financee' is pregnant. When they get married, I'll also be a step grandma. Crystal has a 5 yr old daughter. That's why we are so hoping for a boy....3 girls already. Brian has Ryla, almost 7, Elli, 4. Get those girls together and oh my!! We need a boy to mix up the pot some.
