I have 6, maybe more roosters of varying sizes and ages and almost never have a problem. Only in the morning when my Serama rooster (smallest of them all) chases one of the BLRW (biggest) around the run for about 15 minutes every morning. No fights, just a little chase lol

I'm about to take a high-powered shopvac to my pullets to get thier little chicky butts in gear! Still not laying....

I picked up a couple of chicks at a swap a couple months ago and now they're looking a little bit more like cockrels then pullets. If they are cockrels they'll be available, they are speckled sussex.

Thanks for the opinions.
I have a delaware roo and a welsummer roo that have respect for each other. Then I have a del roo that is about a month younger than the other two roos. The two older ones already share the same coop and they seem to have an understanding that the older dell is The Boss. Boss will even on occasion let the welsummer have his way with the girls. The younger del is in the same coop but in the little sectioned off room. He has been sharing with the batam blue orps. When they are all out free ranging little del still spends most of his time with the bantams. He will sometimes get chased by The Boss. I was thinking about re homing little del but really wanted to keep him as my "back up" rooster in case something were to happen to The Boss. I guess I can try the wait and see approach.

Oh what a day!

A year ago our wonderful governor took dental, vision, podiatry, etc away from Medicaid. I've been on Medicaid and Medicare since 1997 due to life long illness and disabilities. I am supposed to see a dentist 3+ times a year because I'm on anti-seizure meds that ruin teeth and gums, but haven't been able to for the last year. Today a wonderful dental office and 2 fantastic dentists donated their time and services to anyone that showed up without dental coverage. So I was up at 5am (actually, didn't sleep much because I was SO excited!) and at the office at 7:15 (it was from 8-5) where I was the 10th person in line. The fortunately started taking people in before I even got there! My problem was, I already had a tooth that cracked off and appeared to be only a small sliver of a tooth. Nope. It was so bad it required surgery! So what should have taken 10 minutes took an hour and 6 stitches! Plus he pulled the tooth next to it. I have to go back and discuss having all of my teeth removed. I SO hope I can do that soon!

I am happy to say that Oct 1st (start of the new fiscal year) Michigan will reinstate the services they took away a year ago. That clinic today saw the outcome of what taking away dental did. When I left, there was a line out to the street and around the building. I was fortunate I got there when I did. I'm in extreme pain now, but it's different pain. I know this pain will go away in a few days!! I've had 45 surgeries, 20 on the brain and a kidney, appendix and gall bladder removed. The kidney removal was so bad it required 119 staples around my whole right side. I'd do any of that again before having tooth pain!!!

So, since we were up so early, Aric is back in bed (I slept the minute I got home til about a half hour ago), my daughter is asleep on the chair (although she didn't go with us) and I am very fortunate that the animals are being nice to me today since I can't do much except crochet and cruise the internet!

Let's just say mashed potatoes never tasted so good....LOL

I would love them to go to good homes. They are all under a year old.
I would like to trade them for a Speckled Sussex Roo or Large breed hen.

Wow Keyt! Sorry you had to go through that, but I am also happy that you are able to get it taken care of! It is sad when they take such needed things away from people that LEGITIMATELY deserve it like you!

Welcome Dawn!!! Nice to see you!
