Weclome loubapache,
I am your neighbor in the chase area. Just left Big Rapids about 2 hrs ago. I avoided TSC so as not to bring any babies home.heh heh. If I see em' I am in trouble. ha ha! Cute babies ya got there. I lost my Pekin last year ( waddles) I had her for 8 1/2 years. poor old gal she got real bad a week after the dog next door tried to run her. I still miss her, she thought she was a chicken would not swim in her pool to save her life she'd get in, stand up and take a bath and get right out. We never had a drake for her though. But anywho...Welcome!!!

Thanks, Pam.

We miss our lost Pekin everyday.

I am going to put a roof on the run (10 x 16) this year so snow won't fall into the pen. Hope that will help them winter better.

Just south of you in Ohio.....

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight!! Not sure if that deserves a

because we lose an hour of sleep or

because it's a sign of spring!

So I'm already getting warnings about chickenstock. I've managed to pick up 12 chicks, 3 ducks and a rabbit in the last week, now he's worried about what I'll bring home from chickenstock lol

Yesterday when we picked up chicks, we had to stop at 2 stores. Aric said he was worried I would put the chicks in my pocket to go with us because I didn't wanna leave them alone haha

Today the ducks and chickens are happier with a little less mud thanks to the wind. I have a bad feeling we'll have plenty more rain and maybe that wet snow again to make it muddy again.

loubapache,
I am tempted to do the same, I have aviary netting there now that is way too old and the birds just dive bomb through it and I am sick of feeding them all and sick of them being in the hen house when I open the door they come at me trying to get out as I am coming in. ugh!

I have 2x4 welded wire on top of the run now. The run is of Pergola style so the rafters are flat, rather than pitched. I need to find a way to have it sloped a little and then put on polycarbonate panels above.

The rafters are 2x6 spanning 10 ft and spaced around 22" right now. If anyone has good ideas how I can roof this, I appreciate.

I was getting used to seeing the sun about the time I get up. Now it's still dark and I've been up for a couple of hours. Don't you just love DST.

HI,

I stopped at TSC and saw the little chicks and the ducks, too. It was tempting but I have 2 broody hens now so I'm going to try and hatch some. We'll see.

Nice home you have for your ducks. Dan had told me you lost your duck. So sorry. We have a covered run with a metal roof but I think the polycarbonate panels would work great.
If you need some help you know where to ccll.

I'll be getting home around noonish today.. The little devil on my shoulder is telling me that the first stop I need to make is TSC lol.

Opa, I can see the sun in NYC and its beautiful!!
