Ok, still trying to come up with a name for my little pot belly pig. I did a poll on facebook and so far we have this...

Scarlet
Isabella
Delilah
Sabiya
Herminone (play on words...her + mine)
and Simone which means loud, which she can be!

Any opinions? Anymore ideas?

Stopping in to say hi from southwest Michigan! Brand new to chickens and to the forum. Super excited to learn everything I can

Well, if it makes any of those of you with egg shortages feel better my hens have not slowed down at all, but they may as well have because my broody goose/chicken tag team steals all the eggs and I end up having to feed at least half of them to the hogs every single day.

Good thing we're getting more than we need.

In other news the kids are reporting a "big pile of turkey feathers" out back and a turkey hen "with a grey spot that looks like something grabbed her by the neck". Wonder if that huge red tailed hawk I saw the other day got bored with the half-decomposed possum dinner across the road.

He was gorgeous and absolutely enormous, but he'd better leave my darned turkeys alone.

Welcome back, Boyd. How are ya?

M2EM -- My daughter had a silkie like that a couple summers ago. We picked her up at the St. Louis swap and I've seen a couple there since then. If I find another do you want me to pick one up for you? First swap of the season is this Saturday. And then there is one every month until November. I'm quite a drive for you for just one pullet though...
