The sun was shining and now it is not but looks like it is coming back. My chores this am took forever and now I may be late for work cause I had to pop in here. My nankin is supposed to be breeding with a hen visiting us for a couple of weeks. The hen has been here 5 days and does not seem interested in his advances at all. He is not very aggressive either. (waits for the girls to squat) Hey he's a gentleman. There better be some squattin' soon or no fertile eggs for the hens owner.

Any suggestions. They are in a small coop and run about 8x8 in all. Should I pen them in closer quarters to aid in the deed getting done. I am supposed to start collecting eggs in a couple of days.

The coon population continues to decline in my area thanks to me and my traps. Number seven has gone to join her brothers. I feel bad about killing any creature that I don't intend to utilize. However, I don't set traps out in the woods, I've got them all placed with a few feet of my birds. Any coon that has ventured that close is potentially too dangerous to my flock. I wonder what my total will be before the year is out. A friend once set a motion detector on his birds feeders so that he would be awaken each time one ate from the feeders. He finally shot 39 by the end of summer.

Hey Miss Montague, greetings from Muskegon! I would try to give them some fresh grass. Grass always gets my boys going!

If I have anything shiny, my birds try to eat it....my horses however, grab it and yank me around. It's always great when you wear 3 studded belts out into the pasture and you have your car keys attached to a belt loop....o the good times! Cheeky (one of my girls) loves pecking at the little button pieces on pants. She'll grab hold and I swear sometimes it feels like she's going to rip my butt off. xD

Getting ready for the Newaygo Swap tomorrow! I am bringing two muscovy drakes, button quail, millie fleur duccle chicks, golden laced sebright chicks, easter egger youngsters, and old english chicks. Hope to sell most of them!
