Hi! I am new to backyard chickens and we just started our first coop this year. The last three years we enjoyed learning from our neighbor and his coop. We have about 50 chickens but I am thinking some of the pullets we got are not actually pullets (as I read on a previous thread, is a common thing from TSC) we have about 25 pullets (?) 10 broilers, 4 bantam seabright hens, 1 bantam seabright roo, a red/blue wyandott pair (that I may be looking to rehome because they keep eating our eggs) 5 barred rock hens and 5 isa brown hens. and 1 "father of the flock" Pheonix rooster who may be the sweetest rooster I have ever met. not to mention beautiful. Im still not sure what all of our pullets are, my husband came home with them and couldnt remember (lol) I think we have a few americaunas, a few isa browns, maybe a new hampshire red, a leghorn and a few others that I wont know until they get a few more feathers.
We moved back to Michigan about 7 months ago and are just now getting our farm-ette put into place, putting up fencing, setting up shelter etc for cows and goats. Talking about getting a few meat rabbits too (would love to know where to find a good breeding pair up here in Michigan, my hubby wants californians or new zealands I think)
Cant wait to start getting to know some fellow crazy chicken lovers via the world wide web
