nice day today!!

We played outside a lot and I cleaned my rabbit barn. I also did a bunch of moving of my flower bed plants and thinning out. My hostas needed to be thinned quite a bit! Here's some pictures from todays fun...
My daughter Hannah and I made dandelion jewlery

Indeed it was a great day. Chicks and ducks were let out early and played in the sun all day long. Chicks put themselves back to bed at dusk but the ducks had to be coaxed back in.
But the best part was the dogs were completely dis-interested in what was happening in the chicken run.

One last picture....the last hatch of the spring is going to be a HUGE one! Polish, Speckled sussex, Naked neck Silkies, Marans, Easter Eggers and who knows what else my friend's mom brought for me to throw in there!

(only the Sussex and Silkies are mine)

Your kids are so cute Jen!!!

On another note, the baby is acting odd again. It was standing for a while but now it's back down. Still won't open it's eyes. It's so odd and sad, I don't know what's going on or what to do. Here's some pics to give you an idea

Picture006-7.jpg

The bantam isn't standing on the baby. She's always very close to the baby and gets VERY upset if I take it away to feed it.

This pic gives you an idea of how the baby's head is

Picture007-6.jpg

I love this pic. The bantam lays near the baby all the time when it's down, but when it was standing the bantam running around like usual

I just don't know what to do. It's only had it's eyes open a few times since it hatched a week ago so maybe it was born with something!?

Oh Keyt, I feel so bad for the little one. It must have been born with some type of neurological problem. I always want to do everything I can to help a sick animal before I give up and say I did my best. I guess you'll know when that time comes.

Thanks Opa! It looks like another beautiful day! My older chickens free-ranged all day yesterday and the babies had the run. Got the front lawn mowed and just started on the back when my mower broke again.

I just got it back last week and the same belt that works the blades came off again. He'll pick it up and my back lawn will get good and long before I get it back again.

Oh well, at least the part people see from the road looks good! I could have so much more to worry about, I'm grateful for all I have. God has been very good to me. Chickens will be out all day today as well. My daughter has to work so can't come over to see me. Her birthday is May 22 so she is coming over that weekend so we can celebrate both occasions at the same time. Have a wonderful Mother's Day all you special ladies!

I did. Now the other chick has to stay on the porch because she is chirping SO loud because the baby isn't with her anymore. I wish I had another chick to put with her.

Mother's day is one of the worst days of the year for me. Time to find some heavy duty work to get the anger out! Hope everyone else has a great day!

Thanks! We did pretty good. We sold two muscovy drakes and 3 button quail. I also brought home a pair of blrw bantam breeding pair

! The only downside was we drove to newaygo and no one was there. We went in the store and the first monday of each month is in MUSKEGON. So, then we drove to muskegon and got there at 9-10 am when it started at 8.
