Opa, another byc member, steveh, has some eggs just now pipping that were in an egg turner that he later realized he did not plug in for the first 16 days of incubation. So there is hope

Mine were probably sweet, but they were also stupid. Aric and I decided last fall we were going to get rid of them but just waited for the right time. I gave a bunch of my chickens to my best friend who just started out with chickens and I wouldn't even give those things to her! So I sold 3 hens for $20 and gave the guy all of the roosters! Just need to sell 2 more hens and Aric wants to keep 2 hens

Also sold 8 hatching duck eggs

I have another 8 or 9 dozen duck eggs in the fridge in the other house. I think I'm gonna feed them to the chickens because no one will buy them and I give up trying!

Hmmm... didn't find mine were dumb either. Sweet Pea was always there when I was in the garden so she can be the first one to get the worms. All my Isa's were, but Sweet Pea would chase all the others chickens away. Every time I go I go out to work in the garden, I sure do miss having her there with me, rest her soul.

Well, to each their own, that's why this site is so great. Some people think silkies are worthless because they rarely lay eggs so it's like feeding a useless animal. Well, that's what my uncle said. I happen to adore silkies because they are sweet and they can be great broodies. But my aunt and uncle told me right after I picked up the Isas that they were stupid and for once they were right lol It just took me 6 months to see it lol.

How much you want for your duck eggs?

For eating? I have them listed for $3 a dozen but I'll sell you the ones I have had for a couple of weeks (maybe a couple days less) for $2 a doz or 3 for $5.
or were you talking about for incubating?

I have another guy coming buy for eggs for incubating. I think this may be the way to get them off my hands!

My drake hasnt hurt the babies that hatched out last week...good thing or else he would be stew. HOWEVER, he isnt satisfied with the two ducks that he has, he wants to mate with the female who has been sitting on eggs for the past 35 days...despite the fact that she is NOT interested. She is a great mom, but she has to constantly run from that drake. And when Mom runs, the babies scatter. I have read on BYC in the duck thread, however, where male muscovies have EATEN babies.
its a gamble.

I lock my drake up all the time- once he gets it in his head to chase my poor mama duck, he just wont stop.

He has a fit when he is penned up, but at the point I do it, I dont care if he is mad.

I have about 15 ft left of flowerbed to finish and then all my current beds will be complete. I've got to thin down my hostas, lily of the valley, chicksNhens and a couple other plants if anyone is interested. I'm going to try to pot some up for Chickenstock.

I've never had Dahlia before, are they a perenial or annual? I do all my beds so I don't have to do them again LOL. I just planted a new bed around the new rabbit barn...hostas, lilies, cannons and peonies.
