Oh wow, I'd take him in a hearbeat if he was in working condition!

I have so much around here that needs to be done.

The storm finally rolled through here around 11:30 last night. Lots of lightning and thunder and some pretty hard rain. Thank God I no longer have dogs who are terrified of storms. I love a good thunder storm and it was nice to go to bed listening to it. This morning all the cottonwood fuzz has been beaten down and the lawn looks green again instead of white. My pond always looks so much better after a good hard rain too. No limbs down so that's a good thing.

How about we make a package deal...I'll throw in my 20 year old daughter lol.

If I make it there I will definitely have my camera. Anyone that knows me knows they can count on me for photography. I get the feeling I'll need 3-4 sets of rechargeable batteries for this one!

I was going to recommend you Keyt for the official BYC Photographer! Your pictures are awesome. Sure hope you guys can make it!

I don't go anywhere, not even to the store without my camera. You never know what or who you might see. I have a really big purse that it fits in (hmm, can sneak some small birds in that now that I think about it lol) and it's always ready. I've only forgotten it a few times, but now my daughter and bf are in the habit of reminding me lol

I'm re-posting some things on craigslist like I do every day so it's at the top of the list. I'm getting nervous and very frustrated!!!

Ah well, some very disappointing news for me. I will not be able to make it to Chickenstock. Like Keyt, money is very tight for me. All the bills are paid and animals fed, but many times I have to forego the little luxuries in life that we all enjoy. A friend was going to come with me and pay for half the gas but she has just informed me that she will not be going due to something else that has come up. That means I will have to bow out as well. I apologize to Opa who I promised some hens to and who so graciously made tethers for my roosters, and RaZ who I ordered honey from. Also chickendales who I offered a ride to! I hope you can find some other way to get there. I'm sorry I will miss all the camaraderie and good food. Keyt, I hope you are able to make it and take some awesome pictures so I can at least see what I missed. Opa, my sister lives in Brighton and I am supposed to go to our family reunion on the 4th of July. Could I bring the hens and meet you to give them to you then? Or, perhaps you will find a nice ISA at Chickenstock and not need/want mine. Anyway, there's always next year.

We have an old cottonwood as well, right next to the barn. It attracts lightning like you wouldn't believe. Last year it got struck about 15 times in one storm and now half of it has died. we'll need somebody professional come in and cut it down so that it doesn't fall onto our barn. Probably got struck again yesterday. We had some heavy storms come through at 5:15 and 6pm while I was doing chores, after that it was quiet but I was watching it hit Grand Rapids and Coopersville. Just terrible. Slept through the storm last night though. Cottomwoods are messy trees

Oh boy...well, now that I'm done with dentist appt 4/9, I need to re-post stuff for sale. I don't wanna let my wonderful BYC friends down.

Sigh. There's gotta be something else I can do. It's not like Lansing is that far or I'm looking to buy that much. Well...I don't think anyway lol

I am so sad for my DH. 22 years ago when he first started clearing land for our house he picked this location due to the two big pine trees. Now we have one.

I saw the lightening hit the tree.
