If you had Delawares or Chantecler's I'd help ya out, paid for of course, but don't seem to be able to find what I'm seeking. Good luck to you, with placing your animals and with your neighbor in the future. We women can be wierd sometimes....

I wish you were so much closer, Chicwanna. I have a group of six buff chanteclers, and I really think I want to focus on only araucanas. They are eight weeks old, though I can't tell which sex they are since their cushion combs all look the same and nobody has crowed!

oh my gosh, really?? REALLY? MY SISTER IS DRIVING TO THE UP, mARQUETTE TO BE EXACT, NEXT WEEK. SUrprising her daughter. wonder if I could work something out with her???

I am so sorry Raz- as I said on the chickenstock thread- I live in that vulnerability all the time.

My neighbor on the one side of me that causes me all the grief just threw her husband out. I think this spring was the least stress that I have had. I have had to put up with all sorts of crap from him, just so he wouldnt call the pound on me for my chickens.

He has even been known to scoop up random cat poop out of his yard and THROW it under my husbands tractor in our driveway. We once said to him, there are fifty neighborhood cats that roam through here- how can you say that is my cats' ? His dog pees on my tree in my front yard every day. Too bad I couldnt collect that and throw it on his driveway.

He has turned his hose on my dog in MY yard. Kicked the fence, teased my dog, told the other neighbors that my "pitbull is vicious"- and he is the sweetest goofball in the world. I put up with all of it because I need to have my poultry..there is so so much more, that if they actually divorce I think I may live longer- less stress.

Chickmate- check your PM box.

EVERYONE: I need to find a couple barred rock chicks. Has anyone hatched any? I have a great deal with someone for silkie hens if I can locate two barred rock for her.

Could I give you her phone number or email address? or her yours?

Lord help me, but I find that quite funny. I have a neighbor like that on one side. I actually caught him throwing dog poop over the fence into my yard. Don't know where he got the poo but he had to pick it up somehow.
Funny thing is, I thought that he would be the one to complain about the flock. Not a peep from him. Turns out that it was my other neighbor who was once my best friend.

Keyt someone just posted that they have Jersey Giant roosters and are coming to Chickenstock. On the Chickenstock thread.

Dont you have barred rocks? I am looking for two chicks to make a trade for these silkies that I want. Well, I am buying the silkies, but she is looking for br- and if I can give her two chicks, I dont have to buy the silkies. Of course, it probably would be easier for me to just buy the silkies but I am trying to find her what she wants, since she is kind enough to sell her hens to me.

Raz - I'm so sorry all of that has happened to you. I'd definitely keep the hens. I feel so bad for you because I've been in a similar situation many years ago. Not related to animals but my kids. Well, kinda the same I guess lol.

Good luck and hope you stick around here!

yeah RaZ, she probably didn't mean she resented you, but she probably really envies you. I bet you have something she wishes she had and it's bugging her she she can't live the life you live.
maybe it'll smooth over in a few days.
Keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for you and her.

I'm sitting here in total amazement because an angel has stepped in and made it possible for me to come to Chickenstock after all. I want to thank those who sent me messages and Opa, you were so right about the nicest people on earth being on this thread. I am going to enjoy every single second of it, even if I do take all my roosters home with me.
