Nigellas - You are so welcome. I'm glad it went to someone who will enjoy it!
Opa - I loved Granny she was very sweet! Oh and you're right, it is nice to ease into this morning. Yesterday was crazy (although not as bad is it probably was for some) and now I can just sit here with my coffee!!
Mom 2Em All - Are you surprised she had to abandoned poor Penelope? lol
There will probably be another chickenstock next year, so make plans to go as we would like to meet you.
I haven't even looked at the pics that my DH took yet. I will later and try to get them uploaded. Thanks so much to everyone that bought a chicken apron/saddle from me. I tried to meet everyone and say Hi but with so many folks there I am sure I missed someone. My loss I am sure. Thanks for the wonderful time. Thanks to HenofTheWoods for taking my Delaware cockeral, I hope that he will be a good rooster for you. Thanks Granny for the lovely collar. Thanks ChickwannaB for the plants, including the extra one you snuck in there. I didn't know about that one till I got home. Thanks FarmerBoy for the chicks and the plants. Thanks everyone for not minding so much that DH brought his dog along for the day. I could not say no to him since he brought me along too.
For now I must go start helping to remove the tree branches and such from the front yard and driveway

Was it one of those stuffed chicken toys? I saw one on the ground at one point - Maybe it fell out?
Really? Here I was thinking the worst and it just fell out of my purse! Thanks for letting me know Nigellas! I hope someone picked it up and took it home then.
That would suck, you may have mine if you'd like it, mostly purples, but I'd send her to you. PM me your address honey and I'll share. I feel I GOT so much out of Chickenstock it would be a big blessing to give her to you.

Oh yea trust me, even when they were here with me they were always chirping up a storm, never quiet! I think they really live up to their namesake, Chanticler: Chanter- to chant or sing, and cler - clear or clearly! Especially when treats are around, they'd start yapping and screaming like they had never been fed
they let you know they are there! The bands on their legs by the way were so I could tell them apart early on. I made sure they were still loose before I sent them your way, but that is why I had them on. Six birds, five different colors and one without a band = perfect way to tell them apart! The one with the Blue band is the boldest of the bunch, while the one without one is kinda the shy one. But as a mob, they are the boldest chickens I've ever known!
I just now saw this reply, it's after 12-noon here.
I noticed the bands were all different and one didn't have one, she being the smallest. I've named that one Iris Dawn after my own Mom who was sort of pushed past all her life. The others ran right to the feeder this morning and lined up perfectly biggest to smallest with Iris in the background not able to squeeze in, so I HAND FED HER! Needless to say Ive fallen in love with HER and she's my favorite already. Kinda like an underdog, she will always be favored by me.
Thats a great way to remember their breed "Chanting Clearly", I love that. Took a few pics this morning too and will load some up shortly now that chores are done. I photo'd the new babies, 2 Jersey Giants, OH MY, did I really Want those? Im still wondering!!
I looked out in the backyard about 10 pm and they were still "chanting" but by dark at almost midnight all had quieted down. The Chanty Cathedral is outside the downstairs window!!!! Luckily DH sleeps UPstairs.

I tossed TWO of the Current bushes into the back of your truck for you. Hope they turn out to be ones you enjoy. Im sure Granny can make something delish out of them when they start putting out. Mine are 6 years old and not yet to my shoulders, but getting close. I have 2 red ones, Red Lake and Rovada, both are very tasty. A white one, Blanca, also tasty but mild, A pink one, Champaign, also mild, and a Black one which is Ben Serrack which is bigger berries, tougher skinned and a different tast altogether. They do grow better in shade than in sun and mine thrived this year with all the rain, I mulched them with composted manure, layers of newspaper and woodchips over that. Doing great all of them.
You can easily find out about their care online. They are a gooseberry. A little pruning of older canes etc, cut out the dead branches and stuff that grows towards the center. Enjoy and nice to have met you. And Granny.
