Oh yea trust me, even when they were here with me they were always chirping up a storm, never quiet! I think they really live up to their namesake, Chanticler: Chanter- to chant or sing, and cler - clear or clearly! Especially when treats are around, they'd start yapping and screaming like they had never been fed
they let you know they are there! The bands on their legs by the way were so I could tell them apart early on. I made sure they were still loose before I sent them your way, but that is why I had them on. Six birds, five different colors and one without a band = perfect way to tell them apart! The one with the Blue band is the boldest of the bunch, while the one without one is kinda the shy one. But as a mob, they are the boldest chickens I've ever known!
I just now saw this reply, it's after 12-noon here.
I noticed the bands were all different and one didn't have one, she being the smallest. I've named that one Iris Dawn after my own Mom who was sort of pushed past all her life. The others ran right to the feeder this morning and lined up perfectly biggest to smallest with Iris in the background not able to squeeze in, so I HAND FED HER! Needless to say Ive fallen in love with HER and she's my favorite already. Kinda like an underdog, she will always be favored by me.
Thats a great way to remember their breed "Chanting Clearly", I love that. Took a few pics this morning too and will load some up shortly now that chores are done. I photo'd the new babies, 2 Jersey Giants, OH MY, did I really Want those? Im still wondering!!
I looked out in the backyard about 10 pm and they were still "chanting" but by dark at almost midnight all had quieted down. The Chanty Cathedral is outside the downstairs window!!!! Luckily DH sleeps UPstairs.
Oh, it's ALL GOOD.
