I had two JRTs and their preferred method of killing skunks was one on the nose the other on the tail. Usually this happened 5 or 6 times a year. I kept baking soda, peroxide and dishsoap handy at all times. 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup dishsoap, 1 pint peroxide. It was the only thing I found that truly got rid of the smell. Everything else was a masking scent.
I was greatly disappointed with the plastic trombone duster. It come out with to much volume. It will be fine for dusting the coop but not for the birds. So I'll stick with my old method for appling Sevin. Just fill a cotton sock an d bounce it against the birds like a poultry powder puff. Store in a ziplock bag when not in use.
