I got my first "real" egg (non-bantam egg) from the isa pullets today! Then my boxer/bullmastiff ran off with it and had a snack.

What a turd. Oh well, there should be more where that came from. The girls are only 16 weeks old. I had read about the pre-egg squat. I got a squat from one of them 2 days ago, 2 yesterday, and 3 out of 4 today. Overall, I'm surprised at how well you can predict the pol by that.

Michigan Game Bird Assn has a swap in Clare on Aug 6, and there is one in Portland on this Saturday, but I don't have any particulars on that one.

Edited to add: check out this link, there is one this Sat at Family farm & Home in Portland, as well as one in St. Louis: http://www.mbgba.com/upcomingevents.html

Thank you MrsChickendad, I will check it out and see how far away it is. I have went to two this year, one I sold everything in 20 mins and one I bought and had fun.

If I can find my plug to my camera I will post some pictures. Yesterday I went outside and it looked like a chicken frenzy, and I now know why you shouldn't wear pink toenail polish. I think someone else had also mentioned that. I started hand feeding them and that might have been a mistake.

LOL. I will put the peanutbutter cup on the list!
I looked for a store location but there is none. I assume that its internet sales only?

Most likely. You may be able to arrange for a local pick-up if you're near.

I live very near Saginaw and googled to see if I could find their address, NOTHING. Guess they don't have a walk-in store. Bummer. But theres a store who makes and sells chocolates in Bay CIty so I'll get something good there.

Yeah we converted an unused room into my office/lab here. For the costs of a store front, and the distraction to the boys homeschooling to have to pause for customers, we decided to keep sales on-line. (This is an added bonus as when we move, I can take my work with me).

Hello fellow Michiganiacs

After months of nothing but bad news, I finally have some good.

My black LF cochin hatched an egg today, a beautiful little blue chick. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I GOT A PEEP!

Most of my front garden space was ediable, but instead of rows of carrots, I put in a berry hedge, climbing cucumbers instead of ivy, and some fruit trees. you'd be amazed at how few people recognized a cucumber vine.

The sky is starting to lighten in the east so sunrise isn't too far off. The next couple of hours are going to be the best part of this day since the forecast predicts glowing women and sweating men. I think that if it wasn't for the hassle of frozen waterers I would prefer winter over oppressive heat.
