You have been talking to my neighbor, haven't you?

Haha, thankfully no neighbor to pester me about coop cleaning! The closest one is about 1/3 mile away, so I'd have to have a pretty rank smelling coop for them to get a wiff!

Walked over to the fence with an unopened bag of pine shavings. I said, "Is this what you smell?" After a wimpy sniff she said "yes" and it smells like farm, she says.

I swear the next thing she smells is going to be cordite!

Hi Crayon, I am 7 miles north of Rogers City!! Welcome, it is great to see someone so close. You will love this site, I read this forum every day!! 1muttsfan
I didn't realize you were that close. I am loving the cooler weather. At least the evenings are cooler.

Im not so far, I only have 11 chickens, lost one to the Jack Russell so I know your problem well. I don't have many but love every bit of it. Everyone here is very knowledgable and helpful. Friendly too.

Im sure you can russtle up a posse of chicken lovers and take care of yer problem RaZ.
I think it's time to send her a "package". I'd do it, but don't want you to get blamed and I'm sure you would be. Slap my own face, now that ain't Christain.

I suppose I should apologize for being pi$$y about things with my neighbor. I really should not be talking about her behind her back.

I can't believe that I fallen into that pit of sniping. That's not really me at all. I am embarrassed.

On the other hand, I am not going to roll over and give up my rights to live my life as I see fit.

The chickens are staying!

Hello crayon and welcome to BYC Michigan Thread! Lots of great people here. I don't live near you, but I know where you are. My daughter got married last August and we had the wedding at her fiance's father's cabin on beautiful Lake Avalon. What a beautiful area you live in, I love it up there!

I think it's wrong that someone who was once your friend should be the pissy one. You have (IMO) every right to be upset and hurt by her behavior and sudden turn on you. We are very close with one of our neighbors. He loves to drop stuff into the runs for the chickens or ducks. He'll come and sit and talk to Bella the pig and give her snacks. He helps me a lot on my really bad days with pain, goes fishing with us or just sits at the bonfire and chats with us. But if he did the same thing, I could never forgive him. I don't see Tom ever doing that, but I'm sure you didn't see your neighbor doing it either which adds to the resentment.

So, I can understand that talking about her is not who you are, many of us (like me) are guilty of it now or then, especially when it's someone so close. To me you don't owe an apology, it's totally understandable, but it's great you offered one anyway. But I agree, DONT roll over and let her have her way. She already had part of it. Keep the chickens you have, it's not her home or her life. They aren't hurting her, she's just being spiteful!
