You know it's not nearly as easy to procrastinate the afternoon away when the MI thread isn't moving along at its normal clip...

I suppose I'm going to have to go back to being productive or something...

As always, Olive is spot on. Where is everyone? It's lonely here on this grey, gloomy day. I go out and do a few chores and come back in to check the thread. It's been like waiting for my hens to lay.

I didn't mow the lawn...I bulldozed the leaves.

I pm'd you Olive. I am here...just got back from Traverse city...celebrated my 61 bday today!!

I got a Mint robotic floor cleaner!! It is busy downstairs sweeping up dog hair and dirt while I'm up here on BYC!! Such decadence!!

My husband has some extra wildflower and native grass seeds if anyone is interested in purchasing......not sure his price but he would be very reasonable.

Loving this weather!!

Grey and gloomy, it is! Raz, I can send you some geese to do the mowing for you. Bonus: they fertilize as they go. And it's Organic!

Happy Birthday, Fife!

Happy B-day!! You must be having some sunshine. If so, hope it lasts through the weekend, we're heading in that direction tomorrow!

Fife! What state are you in? Just joking! It is grey in Grand Rapids today! And just windy enough so the hens are very unhappy!
I am going to grill chicken and use up the propane in the tank. We just keep getting ready for Winter.

Raz - I would be a big fan of the chicken show! I think chickens are very interesting and eggcentric creatures. People don't know what they are missing. If you want a pet with real quirks, get a chicken!

Olive/Andy - I called Townline and they had me drive over on the day they were shipping chicks. The man reached in the box and gave me a small red chick. I was happy. Then he reached in again and gave me a large yellow chick. 'I don't want that one' I said. He insisted I take her. The lady at the desk nicely said, 'they are all presorted so Im sure it is a hen but if not you can return it to us for exchange'. So I skeptically took the chicks home. 'You're lucky', I told the big yellow chick.
We named her 'Lucky' and the other 'Little Red'. And it turns out that Lucky is a lovely red pullet now. She is very curious and brave, healthy and intelligent. She has a wonderful personality and will surely be a favorite and I consider myself to be the LUCKY one now!
