Awesome cake teeville! I tried to make my daughter a cake that was supposed to be Winnie the Pooh with his hand in the honey pot when she was little and it turned out looking like a big yellow pig with it's leg stuck in a bowling ball. She had a bunch of her little friends over and they all asked why her mom made her a "pig that was bowling" cake. It tasted good but I had to help a few of the mothers that dropped their daughters off into their cars they were laughing so hard.

Angela - Love the rag rug!

RaZ - What do you mean we would have thought you were a chicken expert, you ARE a chicken expert!

BobBry - You had me in stitches with your biker story. Sounded painful both physically and in the pride department.

Nova - So glad to meet someone who is not only mature enough to move on after a divorce, but remain friends with your children's father. Makes it so much easier on them.

Well, I have not been paying attention when you were all talking about broodies because I didn't have one, THEN. I do now. One of my BR's has decided to stay in her nest. I took her out today and carried her out in the yard where the rest were free-ranging, but within a few minutes she was back in the nest. I don't want to have to mess around with trying to break her and I have actually kind of been wanting a broody because I would like a few more chickens but also want to keep my flock closed. She is sitting on one BCM and two EE eggs. I'm just not sure if I want to go through the hassle of worrying about baby chicks in the dead of winter. I don't have a place to keep her separate from the others if she actually hatches chicks and I don't want the rest to try to kill the chicks. Sure wish I'd been listening to you guys.

RB - I know nothing about incubating except that I have heard many on here say to leave them alone, some will take longer than others, just be patient. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing in that department will give you good advice soon.

No chickmate, he is not the father of my kiddos. He's sterile. We were highschool sweet hearts, but we grew apart big time after 13yrs of marriage... that divorce was a good move and we are still friends. My kids dad, we love each other, but we'd kill each other if we lived in the same house. We are both dominant, alphas. SO, he comes every day, has dinner with us, and spends half the evening. Its unconventional, I know, but it works for us. Yes, its still hard, but, it would be worse if he still lived with me.

I certainly will IF they hatch. So far just one. Am worried about the others. No noise or nothing in the incubator.
