Living here in the burbs means that I usually have to drive a fair distance to get chicken feed and supplies. While surfing CL for straw and whatnot, I came across a small co-op close to campus that I think I'll check out. They get their feed from a farm in the thumb and truck it in to their small farm in Washtenaw County. What do you think of these ingredients?
Ingredients: Organic Corn, Organic Roasted Soybeans, Organic Oats, Organic Spelt, Organic Barley, Poultry Mineral Concentrate, Calcium Carbonate, Organic Kelp. 50# runs $21 and the same mix with molasses is a buck more.
Nutrient content isn't noted but I'll ask when, if I decide to try it. They also list pig, goat and sheep food, plus corn, barley and wheat (spelt).
One other question, are stale potato chips alright for my feathered garbage cans? Or it that too much salt?
