I am bummed. I went to take care of the duck coop, feed Aster and give her vitamins, and she was even worse. I had to take her out of the brooder box just to be able to get food to her head. Had to give her water to drink from a dropper and she still couldn't get it all. She did stop attacking me though. BUT while she was out of the broody box, she decided she wanted to try and walk, she couldn't she totally spazzed out, tipped over the waterer, crapped diareaha, was upside down with her feet in the air flapping all around. OMG, it was horrible. And then she started screaching. Since I just had another hen, Skeeter, go broody, I put Asters eggs under her and put Aster down. She may have been a mean little you know what, but she was still a good layer, and I have 2 of her egg being incubated by the broodies... I didn't make the decision lightly. I took into account that she was sitting on eggs, but how would she be able to take care of the babies when they hatched if she was still suffering wry neck? SO, I hope I did make the right decision... My neighbor even took a look at her, and he could not believe that her head was upside down. Said he had never seen such a thing. Well, now he has.

Enjoy EE heaven Aster.

So sorry Nova. You did the right thing though.

RaZ... Forget it. I need it more than half fast. Lol. I am going to steal your coop look thou.

Nancy, yes it is the hardest part. Almost makes one change their minds about having them when you have to cull for reasons other than dinner...

And Bianca.... I can only hope!

I only have 2 speeds, Nova. If you don't like this one, you'll really hate the other one.

When you take my coop design, don't forget the cable TV and stereo system. The hens love it.

Well, my little porcelain d'Uccle went broody today. She is sitting on 6 eggs. 5 of her own and 1 Quail D'Anver. Can't wait to see the babies.  :)

isn,t that just crazy! I would never have thought I would have 3 chickens in one week go broody! Hope you don't have yucky butt issues like I am having with Leila. She will not even exit the box to poop so there is poo on her butt! I am using dog wash wipeys to try and clean it, and have to scoop nerd poop out of the box daily.

thanks for telling me I .did right.

OMG - Hubby just came in from doing chores and sat down and ask me if I was going to get some quail !!!!!! He mentioned to me last year that he would like a few then dropped it and until now never said another word about it. I told him I guess you better figure out how to make a pen for them if you want quail. I have no idea about them. Sheesh.... you would think he would just be happy with my chickens lol.
