Probably as long as you can stand it.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by whiny could you elaborate?

Lol! Yeah I guess you are right. She is whiny as in, whenever I come into the bathroom she paces in the crate and makes this pathetic noise like she wants me to let her out. As quick as she perked up yesterday .... I am suspecting she is probably ok.

She has a very healthy appetite and her poo looks normal....maybe she is getting bullied at the feeder?

Avalon, sorry for your loss.

With the snow blowing so hard I have decided that I can not leave my boots on the porch like usual.

Thank you

We have a little plastic lid from one of those plastic bins that we set our boots on. Works like a charm. Just dump water in the morning before using again.

Do I have to? My name is my screen name....

stupid question alert!

Can I eat eggs that sat under a broody for a few hours? My stupid girls keep getting in the broody box. Even thou I move her to a different box, they will then go on that box! So mama then rolls the eggs under her. And I have a few that lay early early, and some that lay while I am at work. I have plenty of nest boxes.... But they all want the one the broody is in, even if I move her! So, can I still eat them? I have the eggs marked that are for hatching... So I know which are being laid...

I came across a place in Brighton Township that custom mixes organic feed for $12.50 per 50lb bag. I went and visited Joni and Mike at their farm because I was researching raising hens, types of coops, etc. They are good folk. I plan on getting feed from Matt. He also has bulk Diatomaceous Earth. Here is the link:

And my poor fence. I knew I had a couple bad posts and I've been replacing them in other sections, just not this part. That wind kept rocking them back and forth until one by one, the posts started falling down like dominoes. I won't be using that paddock for ahwile. LOL

Good morning everyone! :frow

Boy, what a morning I had! :th
As some of you know that I work at a dairy farm, and I have to get up at 4 am to be there at 5 am to milk the cows. Anyway I left at 4:40, and it was snowing so hard that I could not see around 40 to 50 feet in front of me. So I decided to take M-37 as a safer route than the back roads that I normally take. But M-37 was completely a whiteout. The fastest I drove was 35 MPH, and a few times I had to go 15 MPH. I could barely see anything, and had to drive the middle of the roads in fear of going off into the ditch. My arms were sore from holding the wheel when I got to work 10 minutes late, and thanked God when I got there. I was driving an old 4x4 diesel truck, so I am sure that helped too. Boy, I sure hope that I do not have to that again. It was scary, but the snow was beautiful. I know, I am nuts

I have done Cocker Spaniel for 30 years. Am I crazy? Oh you bet I am. I'm sure the stupid person who THREW a little cocker spaniel out of the window of a moving car into my yard one time will back that up about me being crazy !!!! Especially after I chased them down. Was NOT a pretty scene. Dedicated and sincere ? Absolutely. Misuse an animal and I will hunt you down. After all, they didn't choose to be with you, we choose them !
God put these animals here for OUR benefit. He didn't put us here for theirs.

would love to have been there to see that!! we have a cat that some one didn't want and threw in our yard as a kitten....I am sure she has a better life with us then those that threw her out.

If you crack the egg open and it has to much baby you might not want to eat just because it is a little gross, Don't think it will hurt though.....
So has any one ever made suet blocks out of venison fat? I am trying to render it now. (been waiting for me to get a round-to-it) ....Hope we don't get to much snow, DH had to bring our Kawasaki mule into the shop yesterday, wouldn't stay running and he couldn't find the problem.....no mule .....no plow

hope they can fix it fast and it doesn't cost too much

School must have been delayed today, when I went in the the eye Dr. the same kids were waiting for the bus that I usually pass at 7

What a blustery day! It's really blowing. Ooooh, sun just peaked out.
Welcome to all the newbies. This is a great place to be. Lots of fun folks. Hope to meet you at Chickenstock.
Sorry for the losses. It's always hard.

I haven't opened the chickens pop door for two days. It's just so nasty out. Keeping them busy offering them grapes and strawberries with their scratch. Bunnies are stuck in their hutch, but they are also getting treats.
Well, take care and stay warm.
