Returned to college for my masters degree today after MANY years - 28 to be exact.
Just curious, what is it in?

I have thought about college too, but i'm scared of the loan.... Trying to figure out trades that make decent $$. Seems like the 1-2 year programs graduate you to make the same $$ as if you never went to school.?? And i like plants and animals (of course) but where do you look for those kinds of jobs? Sometimes i wish my town wasn't so small. I am thinking i'm going to have to volunteer for a while somewhere to switch careers. (ex factory rat)

I am 23, and I have not gone to collage too, for a few reasons- 1- No money 2- No time 3- Does not want to burden my family on caring for my chickens at the time. But my mom wanted me to have more schooling, so she enrolled me into Kent Career Technical Center, which is free and each classes are 3 hours long. I picked this-http://www.kc-tc.org/programs/agriscience/ It was the closest to farming, and I loved it. So, I am thankful for my mom pushing me while I was screaming and kicking to school. Nah, I was happy to go. :D I let the Icelandics out today, and got the fencing hooked up to the new charger. Let the calves out for the first time, but the fencing had some bad connection, so the calves went willy nilly through the barb wires. :barnie My siblings had to chase the calves back several times, then we pinpointed where the weak spots are, then got that fixed. Then let the calves out again, then ZZAAPP!! ZZAAPP!! They respect the fence!! :yesss: :woot

You can try here
http://www.greatgreencareers.com/?n...n=2012+GEGH&utm_source=iPost&utm_medium=email

Start volunteering with a group that interests you. I became a Master Gardener and do stuff with them. I also became a docent at Matthaei Botanical Gardens so that should look good on a resume. Find something you enjoy.

This should be my last semester provided I can get through the BS of administrative exit audit.
Then my title will revert to "unemployed" instead of "student".

Farmerboy I have a nifty gadget called a Fence Alert. You leave it clipped on the electrified wire, and if it doesn't have juice the light on the unit blinks. I check it every day, as my horses have a knack for telling when the fence is off.

And Raz, I know I am swimming against the tide, but I liked the flower pic a LOT better than the creepy stalker target guy.

@ Opa, Seems there are still a few of us old school people left in this world. I bet she'd like some of those farm fresh eggs!! Nice trade off for a hunk of chain like that.

PS Happy Late Birthday!

Fuzzybutt.....nice job on the apron. I'm always enviuos of people who can sew.

Taprock......that Rooster of your is very impressive looking....I bet he know it! Love the Polish too!!

GrandmaChicken & Farmerboy.....Yeah....more power to you for going back to school! I liked school & was an average student, but when I got into college it a whole different story.....It was all business, I took it more seriously, got excellent grades & really enjoyed it. A big factor in the college scene was that I was paying for all those classes myself!!

Nova...
