I just saw on-line, craigslist, a pair of coronation Sussex for $75! bu... SAY WHAT? See, then if you were to spend that much money on a pair of chickens, you could NEVER EVER allow them outside where they could get attacked by a hawk. You'd have to have a vet on constant standby for every little hiccup, AND you could not eat any eggs they may produce until you have hatched out at least 20 more chickens... OH WAIT! Since it is only a pair, you'd have to find another breeder close by, or close enough to be able to buy quality eggs/pullets/cockerels to avoid over inbreeding, and keep good quality birds...

They are so pretty, but sheesh! I could not afford that much money on chickenses... I understand paying a chunk of change for some turkeys... But chickenses... I couldn't do it.

OK... if I were to win the lotto, I could do it, and I probably would. I would also build them the Taj Mahal of chicken coops... Oh wait, wasn't that a mausoleum? So, I guess the Windsor Palace of chicken coops... AND a huge pond for the ducks... stocked with duck fish. SO I NEVER HAVE TO CLEAN DUCK POOLS AGAIN!

As a Christian RaZ - I can definitely say that you are creating bad karma with your neighbor. Get back out there and clear her walk!

o.k. this was a bad joke but I am a Christian who likes the concept of Karma.

Oh, I so forgot to give everyone a Veena Update.

My beautiful Veena is a House Chicken. She is lonely, so I am considering bringing in my little Skatter so she will not be by herself. I am Fixing the brooder box so It is more Big Chicken/Dog proof. Veena is eating up a storm. She is eating everything that I give her. She is even letting me examine her crop a few times a day to make sure she is not getting impacted again. There is still no sour crop issues, I think the buttermilk has kept that nipped in the bud. Her comb and wattles are nice a bright red, no paleness. And her poops are nice and normal looking. SO, as soon as she's put some of her weight back on, and its warmed up a bit more, she's going to head back to the big coop. To bad she's not broody. Now would be a good time to let her sit on eggs since she's stuck in a cat carrier that is little more than a big nest box. And she's loving the goodies and spoiling. To bad I can not let her run around the lower level... BUT I have killer dogs. Well, one is, the other just follows in the dog mayhem.

.

All this talk about milk reminds me of the story about the woman who ask a farmer for enough milk for a milk bath. When he asked if she wanted it pasteurized she replied "No just enough to reach my waist".

I hate winter.

You live in a bad state to have that affliction.

Nor can we see you waving your hands at us when you are talking on the phone. (Not you specifically Bobbry, I saw a woman yesterday doing that while driving down the road. Not sure how she was steering...)

thanks for that caveat. Now I no i rally am paranoid.

I guess I'll have to change my name to Richard.

I ran the snow blower and did not do the neighbor like I usually do. I figure that since she has treated me like crap since June I had no reason to clear her sidewalk or drive. I wonder how she will like those apples.

Yes, but I don't get the "Richard" OOPS, maybe I do ??? think low brow?
Took some shots of the MW setup Post in awhile.

I don't know where the word Karma comes from but I think it is a great concept.

Kind of like 'what goes around comes around'.

I really vote for Richard or RaZ clearing that ladies walk before she gets a look at the Uggos!

After going to bed at 3:30 this morning ( sheep lambing) I got up this morning to discover 2 more sets of twins. One got a little chilled so she is in the house right now on a bottle. I will try and take her back to her mother later this afternoon. And all this only after hubby ( here comes the stupid stick smack again) decided we needed to go to TSC in the middle of a snow storm last night.
So I have chicks hatching and sheep lambing .

It's origins are rooted in India and is a common principle in all of the major Indian religions -- Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Sikh.

Yours too? Mine decided we needed to go to town last night too. It wasn't too bad. Roads were slick on the way home, but we just took it slow. Congrats on the twins. I don't think anyone has ever asked... what kind of sheep do you raise? Kats?
