Ahhhhrrrghhhh....the hatching urge is coming on strong! Look at all those cuties!! I must wait.... :: twitches ::
It's getting harder every day to resist the temptation to run out to the coop and grab the first girl I see sitting in a nest box and setting her up....

All you with the babies, you are so lucky!!! they are all adorable.
Ok, i promised a cake recipe, so here goes: (my happy valentines to you guys)
(This one has the chocolaty-ness of a brownie, with the super fluff of a boxed cake mix. To get a sweeter cake with a little less chocolate, you can try cutting the chocolate back to 6 Tb)
Preheat oven to 350, get out rectangle cake pan 13x7??
1 3/4 c. flour
8 Tb unsweetened cocoa powder
2 ts baking powder
3/4 ts salt
2 c. sugar
MIX ALL DRY INGREDIENTS REALLY WELL IN LARGE BOWL
(You can put them in a bag/mason jar and lable for later)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/2 c. oil
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk / cold coffee
1 ts vanilla
DROP WET INGREDIENTS IN WITH DRY. MIX WELL WITH SPOON (Or whip out the mixer if you feel so inclined and beat a min)
bake 35 min, or until toothpick or knife comes out clean. Cool (if you can wait). Frost. Enjoy! This is a great foundation recipe, and it only takes 5 min to whip up! It stands a full inch and a half, and does not dome like a lot of other home recipes, so it would make an awsome layer cake.

Fuzzybutt - don't count them as dead until they are totally gone. I worked in a florist shop and would bring home all the "dead" plants. Most will come back if they aren't totally dried out or moldy. I once lugged home 4 foot Ficus that was just bare branches to which my DH had some lovely comments. I now have a 7 foot huge tree.

great hatch! I was thinking about the Easter hatch-a-long, but I'm not sure I want to wait that long to set some more.

You still have time to do a batch before setting for the Easter Hatch. :D

If you set some now you will have time for them to hatch before you set some for the Easter hatch. Come on, you know you wanna!

Fuzzybutt, don't be so hard on yourself. There might be hope for them yet.

oh it sure is, you know I didn't sleep a wink all night. Finally 5 are hatched, 3 came between 10 and 11 this morning, 1 egg yet to do anything...and for some reason I'm still not subscribed to this thread!!
Moved my brooder out to the small greenhouse on the end of the porch on the south side of the house, will be easier for the bulbs to keep the 2 sections warm. It was struggling in the garage, concrete floor and all holding the cold.
Sure takes awhile for them to dry and fluff out doesn't it? So steamy and humid in there? I still can't get a pic because of it. Oh well, biggest part is over.

Congrats ChicwannaB! You can remove the lid long enough to wipe off the excess water. My incubator instructions said that anyway. Also do you have a plug in the top of yours? If so you could remove that too. I have removed 11 Icelandics and put them in a brooder box in my den. They will only be there a few days. I have three more Iclandics and two delawares in the incubator drying out and a few more pipped.
