I've also managed to leave TSC without chicks... luckily it's because they don't have what I want.

I had a great weekend. Met friends sat night, laughed a lot which is always good! Sunday put up 10 rabbits and canned 1/2 of them. Canned rabbit is very tender and tasty!


I suppose naked chickens would be great come processing time.. but.. can you imagine the sunscreen you'd go through in the summer... and the winter coats they'd need for winter.

High maintenance birds right there!

My Bella has surgery this morning. Shes had leg problems since she was little (she was the runt). Her hips are great, but her knees developed arthritis early on, she cannot sit. Before she was a yr old, she had both her cruciate ligaments pulled. We had surgery done on one, the other healed on it's own. Well, the "fixed" leg has become a problem for her, so today she's having it reversed.

What kind of rabbits? I have a FG breeding pair and a soild black NZ doe. I only knew someone that canned venison. Neat.

I've got to reduce my flock!! I had no idea Muscovy ducks were so prolific, last summer I went from 5 to 40!!! I've already processed 20 and need to unload a few more males and many females before I end up with hundreds! If anyone is interested in adult Muscovy drakes or hens let me know.

NZ/CA Mutts mostly. Most of the rabbits are a natural brown, white, white w/black and black. We get an occ fun color, like a beautiful silver one we kept. This last litter.. I have no idea where he came from, but he has some wooly fur!

If anyone is interested I have a pit mix that was just dumped here this winter. He came to our door one night in November and he is needing a good home. He is a beautiful brown color, looks like a pit, tall, and my vet figures he is about 2 years old. Lots of puppy left in him. He is very good around people, kids, cats, and other dogs. Knows how to sit and is housebroken. He desperately needs a good home. I have many dogs now and cannot keep him and he is such a nice boy I do not want to take him to the animal shelter as I know they will euthanize him.
