need to rehome these little sweeties, they are 7 weeks old now. Buff Chantecler father, Barred Rock mother, except the white one, Lt Brahma for Momma. They love going outside but have been kept in the last couple days due to high wind and cold, but theyll be outside tomorrow and this week we're hoping for sure...stop by and see them. I really dont have the room. Asking $2 EACH.

Those are some really lovely chicks. I like them. NO, NO, NO - You have enough chicks to deal with. (Maybe)

Me too!!! My younger son (Down syndrome) announced last night, he will not change his clock cause he doesn't like the change,. ... Told him now that he doesn't have to go tho school he didn't have to, but the rest of the country was going to do it weather we like it or not

heh heh...come on over and get them...feathered feet dont do well at my brother in laws..he doesnt baby them and pamper them and they get muddy and...

Speaking of chickens...

Yesterday, I got Isa chicks..told the guy to give me the bigger ones because they had smaller- probably the newest shipment and then the bigger looked like they were a week older. Because I was putting them in with these fluff balls, I wanted them to have some feathering started.
I got four of one and two of the other. Four brownish yellow chicks..and two yellow. So, whats yellow? Buff Orps? This was the red pullet bin. This is a down-fall to having the chicks gated off. I am glad kids cant get them, but seriously...I even check out the loaf of bread I am buying before I put it in my cart.

Anyhoo...I have to tackle the shed today. I would like it to be warm out. There has to be another chick waterer out there...cuz this dish just isnt going to cut it.

awww man...

the one not-so-Uggo with the dark skin, and purplish comb/wattles..the one that I was HOPING wasnt a boy, like its siblings who have bright red combs and wattles..is outside crowing..like an elephant.

I looked out the bedroom window to verify that there was an elephant trapped in a tar pit...and it looked at me, then jumped on the silkies' back to prove he is a cockerel.

Anyone want four roosters? Soon? FOUR!!!! Im not even going to pretend that they arent going to end up as someones dinner. It was hard enough to find a home for the Turken, and that was only ONE bird.

I've been sitting here for the last three hours waiting for daylight and warmer temperatures. I need to get it in gear and work on picking up all of the cut branches from my pruning efforts. I also need to move a few more birds and then get busy cleaning the coops.

Both Hope and Granny are still sleeping in so the house is very quiet. I sure wish I could sleep in like that, but it seems no matter what time I crash at night I am still up at 5am. I guess it''s just my body's way of telling me that I can sleep when I'm dead.

Taprock, I tried hatching in cartons one time and didn't like it, so I still hatch with them on their side. By then a loose air cell should no longer be and issue.
