Oh, here's one for you...

I went out to close up and chase the ducks to their coop. I found Roger sitting on top of Fiametta. Just sitting there, like she was his new roost. She was sitting on the floor looking like she didn't know what the heck was going on, but was not moving... She out weighs Rog by about 3 pounds... What the heck was that all about? Never saw him do anything like that, not even with Buffy or Leila. I chased him off of her... Was it him exerting his dominance?

I've been giving them peas for about a week or so. I don't what it is about peas, but it is like crack for a duck. Like mealworms for my hens.

Raz - I think arbor day is coming up... you need to plant some more trees.

Rotten neighbors. Love your little duckies!

Welcome back Fife. You brought warm weather with you.

muttsfan - Thanks for the chicks. They are tucked under mom now. After you left my son tells me "I love that lady, to bad she has a boyfriend."

Not much time to chat, I have to go soak a chicken's foot and bandage it up again. She did great today and was running around all over the place, hopefully it looking good.

Tap,
I pruned that tree on Sunday and stuck several branches and twigs in a bucket. They are all sprouting with an astounding vigor. I'll re-pot them and bring to ChickenStock.

Hey RaZ.

I am thinking you need a large rooster statue with a audio box and motion sensor... Aimed the neighbors direction... hehehe

How about pink flamingos on the lawn? And a spectacular Christmas light show that begins in November and draws lots of cars to your street?

Flamingos I like.
There is a house down the next block that still is displaying X-mas lights. If I had a grenade, I'd blow them up.

There is a really Christmas funny movie about a house with a huge Xmas light display. Music, lights. It causes a conflict between neighbors and a traffic jam!
I think Matthew Broderick was in it.....

Edit - hope Mom2 is getting her surgical site checked! Thinking of you Mom and praying for all to be well!

But the flamingos would be great for the Summer. Maybe a fountain or two? Fake palm trees? Did you see the movie 'my big fat greek wedding'? They had a yard full of ideas!

We already have that crap around here beginning in early November.
What I'm thinking is several straw bales, stacked 5 or 6 feet tall. No way that 5 foot tall "lady" could see into my yard.

I hate to be that shallow. On the other hand, it is easier for a smart person to be pretend to ignorant than for the ignorant to pretend to be smart. I'll take the high road...For now.

Uggos are the 14 week old chicks that I got from Mom2emAll about 7 weeks ago. I forget what the crosses are but they were the UGLIEST chicks that I had ever seen. I think that they are part turkhen and cockatoo and based on size, some ostrich gene mutation.

And despite their size, they have shown that they can escape under a gate with a clearance the size of a brick.

They are standard Turken crossed with either bantam silkie or bantam sizzle.

Mom2, have you heard from Juise? I tried giving her a jingle earlier to find out about DF situation, but just got her machine. Hope she got the answer she needed from them.

havent heard from her yet

Sorry RaZ. It took me a few minutes to catch up. Don't you love the power of suggestion, though? I bet the uggos would never have known they had an escape route if it hadn't been pointed out.
Kind of reminds me of where 3 of the bantams I have decided to sleep at last night. I got home a bit after it got dark and they were nowhere to be found. The bigger chickens were already in their coop. I searched all over with a flashlight and finally found them on the roof outside my daughter's small window. Absolutely no way to get them down. Crazy birds.

Most of mine prefer to sleep on the ledge right out my bathroom window rather than go into the coop.
