I got your pm and email, M.sue. I wasn't home all day yesterday from 6 in the morning until 2 this morning.

After school, I hung out with friends and later that night we played kidnap. I planned on emailing you yesterday, but I didn't have access to a computer. I sent you an email with my directions. Sorry about that.

Good deal...Now that's what I wanted to hear!! Just getting antsy here on the receiving end!! lol Gonna go get it now....THANKS!!

Hey Mom2, Juise is planning to go to DF on Sunday. They are planning to visit family, I believe, Saturday, that is that way, pick up the chickens Sunday and head back. Could you imagine 2 littles in the car for 6 hours! I am sure you can, so that's why they are doing it in 2 days. Lol. I can barely handle my 2 boys in the car for 4 hours let alone 6!
Hope you are feeling better. I can't imagine hiccups are pleasant.
Juise, just be happy she didn't take daddy's shaver to her hair... My oldest used to do that, then I'd have to shave him bald. And no, he hasn't learned not to yet...

Im going to Brighton today to meet with Ferret to give up the roos. If there is someone near there that could meet up with juise, I could leave the banty chicks with them to give to her to give to you.

Sounds like a chicken train.. lol.

Nova- whenever I would go down south 12 hour drive, we drove at night so the kids would sleep most of the way. Finally they got old enough to survive all day long to drive during the day. Finally..and even now, last time we drove, it was horrible.

Ferret if you want any banties, let me know- my kids are still sleeping, but once they are up, I am sending them out to catch the roos. No problem to pick up the chicks out of the coop. They practically attacked me when i gave them water this morning. lol.

We don't have any place to put a brooder for chicks (the garage got itself messy again), nor any broodies that would keep an eye on them, so I'll have to pass on getting some wee ones.
Thanks for the offer though!

too all the newbies!! Nice to have you.
Enjoy the day, everyone. Looks like another pretty one.

yep..little Tim conway steps..lol..feed the chickens, then had a face-off with one of the roos..who ran like a chicken, hahahaha..me and my big scoop,,,told the sizzle to be quiet..then i went out front and talked to the neighbors. Now, I am sitting down, exhausted.
My husband is fixing up the truck- making it chicken proof, then he and my daughter are gonna catch the roos and put them in. hahaha..I wish I could help. But I cant even bend down.

I got to meet Robin!! Ohmigosh her lambs are soooo cute! If we had more land I am sure that two of them would have made it home with me. Down 2 roos up 25 hatching eggs lol!

I had a migraine and had gone to bed ....
Has anyone heard from b737drvr? Milan I think also got some heavy weather. Before all this went down, b737 and his very charming family came over and I enjoyed that visit very much. His kids are going to be awesome with their new chickies. Very interested in the birds, confident but respectful, very eager to help. Wonderful family!

Hi Susan. Thank you so much for the tour on Thursday afternoon. So glad to hear you guys didn't sustain any damage from the storms. The weather was so nice and in a matter of an hour or so, it really turned rotten. We were still running errands in AA when the sirens sounded. Not much we could do, so we just went to a restaurant, got a bite to eat, and rode out the storm. We didn't arrive back at the farm until well after dark, and thankfully we didn't have any damage, just standing water from all of the rain. Coop was surrounded by a lake again! Thank you too for the kind words about the kin. They really enjoyed it and kept talking about all evening. We are anxious to get those chicks! When I started reading your message, I figured my kids were the reason you came down w/ a migraine!

B737 stopped by in the morning to look at my coop and run set-up. He is a nice guy so I warned him about some of you.

Then I went out to Opa's for that apple wood that I told him I'd get about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The spring peepers were calling from the swamp and that was music for the soul. I love hearing frogs and toads in the spring. Plus I got to see his fine chicken ranch and all his beautiful birds. Some of the breeds I had never heard of before. Plus I got some great tips for smoking meat and fish.

I'm supposed to go out to Ypsi and play pool with some of the kids from school tonight but I haven't showered yet and this semi-old rooster can't dance all night with the young pullets anymore. Besides, the duck brooder needs to be cleaned AGAIN! Four little mallards are eating 2 1/2 quarts of grumble each day now, while the 8 chickie girls only eat a little more than a quart jar full. I can't imagine how much chick starter you go through when you have dozens of these little garbage can fuzz butts.

Better go back out and tidy up some things. I'll be back in a bit.

Hey Randy. It was great to meet you yesterday morning. Thanks for the coop tour and the tips and tricks. Sounds like a stroke of luck to meet friends of the code compliance officer. Heard anything back from him yet?

B737 jinxed me when he stopped by. He pointed out an opening in the ceiling in the coop and asked if the birds ever went up there. I said that they hadn't.
So as I was closing up the garage, I noticed that the little chicks were missing. They had been on the roost 1/2 hour earlier. Then I spotted them...

Yup, they found the opening in the ceiling. I imagine, come morning, that they will be on the wrong side of the wall. Uggos are explorers.

Sorry to jinx you! I seem to have that sort of luck wherever I go. Just be glad I didn't leave the wake of damage at your house as I did at Susans...man, we left a wake of migraine headaches and tornados when we left there!

Well other than the rain on Thursday night, the weather has been absolutely perfect. Worked outside all day yesterday. Finished getting the tractor put back together and a couple of the vehicles cleaned up. Too wet still to work on the chicken coop. I am back to work now after enjoying most of last week off. Have to work six days in a row this week - yuck

Mom2EM...glad you survived the surgery. Hope that bruising and swelling goes away quickly.

Everybody have a great weekend! Enjoy the weather!
