Could you threaten her with harassment? Or slander or something? Character assassination?
I don't play those kind of games, but the statute does provide for the opportunity to seek remedy for harassment. That is one card in the deck.
I do not plan to sink to her level, but I will explore all avenues of protecting my homestead.

I'm hoping to her from the ordinance guy soon.

Hi, need some help, got meat birds coming fri. got the brooder ready today 4'x4' square wood box on the tractor. my problem is, I have 250 heat lamps turned it on for about 15 min and it got to 108,,,what size bulb would you use, there are vent holes around the top and it is outside, under our second floor deck-3season porch. I plan to check on a lower watt red lamp tomorrow

I'm having the same issues right now beacuse of these ambient temps outside. I even had my ducklings out in a wire pen just beacuse it was so bloody hot! Anyway, I switched from a 250W bulb to a 75W full spectrum (I had on hand) and I only turn that on before I go to bed when the outside is cooler. All day the brooders have been picture perfect 85 degrees. Those are my CX that are now two weeks old. So, they do make 125W heat but you could try a regular 100 or 75W bulb. With the temperatures we're having it's a check and wait thing. I think the temps are falling in the Muskegon area in a week or so, back to the 50's. BTW, I've used both white and red and had the same results with bird temperment.

I keep forgetting you guys are getting 80's down there - we have been getting mostly highs of up to the 50's

It was really hot here, upper sixties and maybe into the lower seventies today. I know I was uncomfortable outside today, it was too warm too quickly for me, even in shorts and a t-shirt (but I wear those when it is in the 40s, haha).

I will be preparing to protect the fruit trees if we get a frost, since they're about to push leaves. I don't want to loose blossoms and tender young growth to a frost because of this early early spring.

Sorry, I missed this earlier.

Can you move the lamp higher above the brooder?
I have 2 Rubbermaid water troughs that I use for brooders. The 250 red heat lamps are at one end and the chicks can move back and forth to the warmer end as they see fit. I have a thermometer in the middle so I have a pretty good idea of the temperature.
Your 4x4 box should have enough area for the chicks to find a warm spot if they want it.

I'm no expert, but I've been watching my ducklings and chicks and they are thriving with what I have set up.

Yes, they are really that big. AND, next to the bantams they look even bigger. I gave them their females today. They have Blue Marans and Blue Splash Marans. Big Boy is being good as gold now. I just don't think he likes the color blue. Hope he doesn't hold it against his girls LOL
Don't know why.....Blue is my favorite color.

BIG HUGE MISTAKE and I am really paying for it now.
No lecture here....live & learn.

I haven't talked to him yet. Maybe on Monday.
Oiy. My creativity is being stifled. Any sober carpenter can make a square barn.

How boring!!
Yeah, square is boring but so easy to clean!

Well that was interesting.
After working in the backyard all day, raking, cleaning, cutting wood and other chores, my complaining neighbor had a few words for me. As I stacked some wood along the fence, she called me a "Ducking Fick". Such language from a "lady"!
Hope you smiled back and blew her a kiss.

I have the same set-up but the 250W is too much. Tonight I will probably have no heat on at all! The brooder is still 85degF and it's almost 10PM.

We lived in the Soo for a few years when I was running an Icebreaker. I don't miss the one month early and one month later season, ha ha! I do miss the partridge hunting though

I just wanted to get out of the house- going stir-crazy, hate being sick, feeling like an invalid.

BIG HUGE MISTAKE and I am really paying for it now.

I am going to eat some chicken broth, take a Tylenol 3, and go to bed.
My cousin is still yelling at me that I need to be in the hospital- because of this bruising. (it goes around my hip now onto my back) but I am going to see the doctor in the morning.
Got a low-grade fever. Thats normal, I think., She had one too for a few days.
BED- sounds like the plan for me.

Mom2- nothing about your bruise or the low-grade fever sounds right to me. Please, if it gets worse before the morning seek medical attention. Don't wait for the doctor.

She is mad because I did not ask for her permission to plant the tree. Eight years ago!
When I do yard work, I generally make a huge mess during the process. Then it may take me a few days to get everything all neat and tidy. That has been an issue with her. I don't work according to her schedule.
Sounds like she is a person that will complain just to complain no matter what you do. You're taking care of your property and she just needs to deal with it because you have every right to do so. Perhaps someone should point out to her not only to mind her own, but that a privacy fence can solve her problem if she is so aggrieved by you.

Ooh... That would scare me...
x2 never, ever could I do that.
