I'm also so sorry about the loss of your Aunt, Daron. Losing a family member is very difficult and it takes some time to heal. My prayers for your whole family. So glad you're OK, we were getting worried about you.

Stacy - I can't keep my appointments straight and I don't live anywhere near another time zone. Can't imagine how confusing that could be. Since it appears to happen often you'd think she would clarify the time and which zone she was going by.

It's been cold and windy but sunny and the chickens have been out enjoying it all day. The four babies tend to stay together in their own little flock and have been out all day as well. Had to remember to turn the heated dog bowl back on yesterday so the water wouldn't freeze last night. And I almost put it away a couple days ago!

THERON - Does your lack of response mean you're not going to take me up on my little deal?

Daron, I am really sorry for your loss. My condolences to your family.

I AM FROZEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband says that means I am feeling like my old self again...walking around with my coat on. Too bad we couldnt have last weeks weather THIS week, because I could truly enjoy it.

I was not planning on keeping any of the banties that are four weeks old..and most of them are roos...too bad that I cant keep a roo, because some of these little banties are adorable..and none of them are afraid of me- though some keep their distance, but stay close..
HOWEVER- that said, there is one grey little one, that I sure do hope is a pullet, because it follows me everywhere, wants to be on me...my stalker. My husband is constantly saying, 'there is a little grey chick behind you.." "yeah, I know, its my stalker"...if it stays a girl, it can stay here.
If anyone wants any bantie roo let me know. I will post pictures of them- they are mixed with Serama, so they are tiny and have that upright posture. If we have sun tomorrow, I will take pictures then.

While I am somewhat relieved there are no new bunny pictures on today, I am also very bummed. lol. I told my hubby and showed him those baby Flemish- he liked ours when we had her. And because I know how to work him, I also showed him the pigmy goats and said, "HONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY look..it would take four of them to be the same weight as Yogi (my dog)..."

See..when looking at goats it makes a potential bunny not seem so bad, doesnt it?

Cute bunnies! I use to have a pet lop ear rabbit when I was a kid, I miss him.
It has been a long, busy, off week starting last Thursday.
Thursday- Got my order of chicks at the feedmill- 5 ISA Brown pullets, 5 ISA Brown cockerels, but came home with 2 more ISA pullets and a meat chick, as I want to try raising meat chickens as a extra income. so, that one meat chick will be experiment to see how I raise it until its ready to be processed. I am so not looking forward processing a chicken for the first time, but I need to do it. Who want to help me process my chickens? I may go to Family Farm & Home to pick up about 25 meat chicks or so. They have them for $1.49 EACH!!!
Also got the pasture mix seed, so I can seed the field that I had tilled up before it rains. It took me over an hour to seed the field, and it was getting dark, and one of the 5 months old steers was trying to help me, by trying to eat the seeds from the seeder. He was chasing me while I was dragging the seeder behind me for it is impossible to push the seeder in a freshly tilled field, so just for fun, I stopped quickly, and he ran into the seeder. It was so funny!

Anyway, when I got home from picking up my chicks, my Mom was running around trying to get things ready for the family emergency, and needed me to do a few things for her, so she can go to Ann Arbor with her sister and my oldest sister for our Aunt's health was failing fast and was on complete life support . Let me go back a bit here-
My Aunt, one of my mom's 6 sisters was getting blood clots in her lungs, so her doctor made her to go to Spectrum Health Hospital, but they could not help her, so they transported her to Ann Arbor. But, as they were treating her, so they can do a surgery on her lungs to stop the blood clots, her heart failed, followed by her lungs and kidneys. The doctors called my mom as she is in charge of her, so my mom had to take her other odd sister, and my oldest sister drove both of them to a 3 hour trip to Ann Arbor to see what needs to be done with her. At that point, there was nothing to save her, so the doctors took her off life support, after my mom arrived there and talked to them. She died 3 hours after the life support was turned off. It was very sad for my mom and her sister there. The funeral is this Thursday, and its going to be a closed casket, for she was in a very bad shape. One of my mom's sister is coming tonight by train from New Mexico, and her other sister is coming tomorrow night by plane from Florida. So, its really busy here trying to get ready for the Aunts and the funeral. The Aunt that died, never married and did not have any kids. I will miss getting birthday cards from her, for she was the only one that would send birthday cards to everyone on my mom's side. I still have all of the birthday cards from her.
So, that is why I have not been posting much.
And I am 700 post behind in the Easter-Hatch-A-Long thread!

You're never too old to have a Flemish - those are my babies and looking for homes!

Last year FFH had a sale on meaties at $1 each right after Easter. I got a bakers dozen in the meat pen - 3 weeks now.

Sorry about the loss, family is most important!. Take care.

Huh? Response for what?

What a pain in the butt.

I got this laptop right. My dad got it from phoenix university online. Anyway, he's been gone for a year and a half now, and when he was alive, and the school dropped him because they could not verify his diploma he earned thru the navy, he asked about the lap top. They were dropping him, kept his pell grant... Well anyway, he was assuming it was covered by the conversation he had with them at the time. Here it is 2 years later, and now they have FROZEN the laptop because I possibly have it illegally. ***?!

SO, I call their number, and what do I get? A recording, telling me they'll get back to me in 48 hours, and IF I do not answer the phone when they call, I will be put to the bottom of the list. What a joke. They should have requested the dang thing mailed back then, when they dropped him. I am hoping its just because its been 2 years and needs a code from the college. Otherwise, they are going to have to talk me thru the process to delete all my info. ALL MY PICTURES! Oh... that'd make me mad. They can have it back... my son has dropped it several times now. LOL... its even missing keys because my 3 yr old... who was 2 at the time, manage to pluck them off. LOL. Darnit all.

Nova-

go get some thumb drives and start transferring your pictures NOW...just for back up, just in case you DO have to send it back...isnt there some sort of statute of limitations on something like that?

Mom... I would do that, but when I say frozen... I mean, white screen informing me that the owner, phoenix, has frozen the laptop and to contact their tech dept. Can not do anything with it. I am mostly concerned with all my contact information in the computer...

ANYWAY...

There is nothing like recycling old kids toys to make ducks happy. They can actually swim in this. LOL. I cleaned it today, AGAIN, at least every 3 days I have to change it... I found old beer bottle caps in it, and a few peices of glass... OMG! This stuff they are digging out of the ground! I hope they do not injure themselves. I had no idea there was that kinda crap back there where I moved them too. Now I am wondering what is in the area where I am going to put the pond, and IF I should put a pond there... Aren't they pretty. Little stinkers do not like the duck food.
