Ok...question for you all. My son decided to get into my hatching eggs I was collecting from my silkies and smashed two of them...all over the other ones.

Now there is nasty yellow yolk all over my hatching eggs...my question is what should I do? Toss the eggs that are coated in yolk or wipe them off with a damp cloth? This happened yesterday (when i wasn't home..husband was watching him...ouy...) and I haven't done anything to them yet. I meant to ask this question when I got home from work last night but completely forgot.

Hi all!

I am going to raise chickens for meat for my first time this year, and I am looking for chicks in west Michigan. I am in the Cedar Springs/Sparta area, but would travel.

Does anybody know of a farm selling chicks?

Thanks

Welcome to the MI thread. Family Farm and Home has meat birds as well as Tractor Supply. Townline in Zeeland has them also.

RaZ, hope your back feels better. Heat pad man.... Sarah, glad your dad is well. Mom, just kick her butt and send her to bed. Hope you get a good answer on the colon exam. Those suck.
and I am sure I am forgetting something else....

I came home from hell today, and Leila was outside grubbing for food. YEAH! But she shortly went back to the eggs. Thats a good thing. She is coming out to eat.

I have a head ache. Doesn't want to go away. I think I am on day 4. I think its work. I am not getting enough sleep.

Olive,
Thanks, I had no idea. I've got a message to a lady up here.selling a breeding pair ,but haven't heard back from her yet. Found another lady who has hatching eggs in white cloud. I'm picking the eggs.up tomorrow. If the gal with the pair calls back I may have to cancel picking up the eggs....Nah! Who am I kidding. They're small and can't eat much right. Repeat after me..I do not another chicken......I do not need another chicken......Lol.

Jen - I'd just wipe the bulk of it off and proceed as usual.

Elliemae - No problem. Where are you from? Small animal swaps will be starting up here soon around the state and those can be an option for picking up adult birds as well as chicks.

TotalColoour-

Dont be scared..lol...Im thinking Olive is the kind of person that can handle it...hahaha...sounded like to me, that you both were agreeing with what you both WOULDNT do...
just like how I wouldnt ever take the recalled Darvocet that I still have stashed in a drawer because it worked so well for my cluster headaches....

Thanks Mom2, actually, I wasn't too scared 'cus I'm all the way over here in WA!
