So today was very productive :) Put more eggs in the bator and I'm starting a coop project. A friend of mine is moving and gave me one of her old coops...and we are working on redoing it. Have to fix up the wall with the door and put on a new roof and new floor. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do! Have to do a second coat and then will start working on the rest...but at least it's not that horrible mint green anymore!

this is the opposite side with 1 coat of paint. Going to replace that little board we didn't paint and the 2 runs will come off that same wall.

Not going to use that corregated roofing stuff...found out it's pretty expensive!!

Leila got off of her last egg... and i hought it was a goner... I put it in my cleavage, and dang thing warmed up and started hatching... not saying to do that... but just saying, you never know.
Good info to know...lol...I'll have to remember that emergency technique

Yup, these kids have been through a lot. They currently live in Illinois, but used to live here in MI, and a lot of the family has been asking about them. The neighborhood they live in is not-so-good ghetto, and it gives me much pleasure to let them play with the animals in the grass and sunshine. I'm taking lots of pics, too :)

Their Dad has them right now, and though i give him credit, i don't know when the last time these poor souls had a real meal !

Grandpa just came and spirited the whole brood away in a what-the-heck fishing trip. DH too, aaaaah. quiet!

I want a speckled sussex.... Of course I want a jubilee sussex also....

I forgot about guinea! I knew, but I could not remember what the name was, and I was looking up pheasant and quail, but nothing was fitting! Thanks.

TC, they sure do have a funny sound.

Across the street, and a farm down from this one, they had some drakes that were really cute. I think they were come sort of campbell, but they had a varied color pattern. One that looked like it might be a runner, and then a mottled duck about the same size. AND one mallard drake. Just one hen/duck to four boys, and boy were those boys putting on a show. LOL. Gotta love spring.

Swampducks - have you incubated guineas? I just found my first eggs 3 days ago and was amazed how early they are this year. What colors do have? We are looking for another male if you hear of any up this way.

well..Mom has the same curse..lol.

Anyone want some banty roos? I have more than enough to populate all of your farms.
What do you do with extra banty roos?

The sun came out for a moment today so I snapped a picture of my favorite ...
Send some of your spring up this way!

Nova - guineas ! We call them turkeys with dresses.
