My Aunt had a guy who had a couple hives on her property and lost them also this year. Don't know if they have plans to get more or not.
I was just curious if you guys actually got enough to sell & make a little profit. Bring the extra to Chicken Stock.....I'm sure it'll go!
I sold some last year at ChickenStock, but it wasn't for a profit. I didn't even break even . But I still have some from last year and can get more from this spring's harvest. It just won't be from my backyard.

I like the "natural remedies" Raz! i respond to them better than the dr pills, usually. For poison ivy, something about the plant with the orange flowers, that the seed pods blow up when you touch, is supposed to help with poison ivy, and usually grows near it for some reason. Problem is, for me, the ivy comes up before they do!

Do you know of any others?

I'm thinking it would be good for me to take a natural anti-allergen/ anti-inflammatory for the summer. I'm leaning toward mangosteen, since it works on skin ailments when taken by pill.
I was afraid that I would be challenged on this. There is a plant that grows near poison ivy that is supposed to negate the effects. But for the life of me, I can't think of what it is. I'll have to ask my plant prof or one of the other docents at MBG. I hate forgetting what I should know.

Impatiens Capensis, I believe, although I always knew it as, "Busy Lizzie", and I think it is also called Jewelweed. I love those things, I don't have the habitat for it here, though. :(

Such a tiring day. We got the goats and their oh-SO-heavy house home. How we managed to get the house on the truck to begin with is a miracle. Getting it off wasn't so bad as DH made a makeshift ramp to slide it down. The goats seem to like their new home and have been so active since getting here. It was kind of funny, too, when the chickens came running up to the fence. I don't think the goats knew what to make of them, nor them the goats. They all just stood and stared at each other like 'what the heck are you?' LOL.

Yeay! My friend was so happy that they are going to a great new home. She sent me an email after you left. :) She is totally confident that she placed them in the right home and is content that they will be happy with you. :)

So after a night out with the hubby...no hatches...BUUUUUT....THREE MORE PIPS! and LOTS of chirping coming from the bator. WOOT!!

Had I known, I would have helped move the goat house for you. I helped Yorkchick a few weeks ago to move her goose chalet. A few more times of moving livestock fixtures and I might even get good at it.

Good Morning All,
Sipping my 2ND cup of coffee slowly and STILL getting things in order for this Sunday's Brunch. I won't get a lot done tomorrow for my DD has a Horse Show and we have mass to go to later that night. So it's do as much as possible today between work & running and skip the rest!! After all it's just family and I'm not trying to impress anyone.

I was so disappointed in the weather yesterday....so cold by us. I really wanted to take the little ones out for a bit, maybe this afternoon.

Congrats you guys on the addition of new goats & chicks!

GOOD MORNING M.SUE!

I have been up since four- my dog knows thats when the alarm goes off, and he had to go out..then when I went back to bed- the other dog decided he had to go. Then the alarm went off....for my husband. Then he turned on the kitchen light, and woke the chicks up- and etc etc, I am up.

But I work nights tonight.

I am getting my grandson at noon. He will stay the night. Even though Gramma wont be here. Then in the morning, he and I will color eggs and....and...chicks. I want to color my chicks. Skittle chicks. :)

Its COLD out there right now, for sure. Jealous of the southern states now. We sure were teased with the warm weather early last month. This is normal, I guess.

I have one chick, and four pips now...

Ahahaha! That is too funny. At least your dogs wait for the alarm to wake up you. The dogs here sometimes preemptively wake us people before alarm goes off! Not this morning, but some mornings.

Morning Mom2....How fun coloring eggs! We haven't none that in a couple of years, my kids are growing out of that stage. I actually like the shrink wraps for eggs.....no spilled water or mess! I still have to get their baskets together though, that I don't they will ever grow out.....they love their sweets!

You guys with all these incubators full.....really don't know how some of you manage with work & all.

Morning Stacykins!
