I love all the chic pics, and the dyed chickens!

yes, the toilet is better. i'm better now, i got to finally spend some uninterrupted time with my birds. Tonight is all about little Rose, she has quit eating. Not sick really, just not eating. Is it possible that she's depressed over losing the eggs? She didn't want the chicks, but she may not have been fooled, if she knew hers were dead. I broke protocal and brought her in for the night, so i can feed her every few hours till she gets her strength. She seems to be a little perkier already. I gotta work on setting up a spot to set up the heat lamp in the shed at FIL's property so i don't get busted bringing home these birds!
camper coop is too far away from the shed to run an extension.

I'll try to remember and post some pics of the tractors soon as I get the 2nd one done.
Keyt is making a great one too!!

Sorry about your chick RaZ. Are you going to prevent the hawk from coming through the hole?

When you guys were talking about Lilacs, and I was trying to find pictures of our bush that was taken last year, but was not able to find it. But my sister found them on her picture wall on Facebook. This year there is not going to be very many blooms, and they have finally starting opening the blossoms.
Last year-

Other random pictures. WARNING PICTURE OVERLOAD :D

Our sassy cat-Tiger :D He just turned 6 years old, and we had watched him being born. Can't believe we had him this long, and he is our first and only cat. He is a indoor/outdoor cat.

This our German Shepard/Black Lab puppy when we first got her at 10 weeks old- Jade

Now at 8 months.

Our steers, they are 4 months old now. :th November, the black one, sigh, he is too spoiled! Pancake is a bit skittish, but will eat from my hand.

The first hatchling- Tomaru Longcrower chick.

I love this Flowering Plum tree.

Sun setting on our freshly mowed yard-

My 5 emu eggs in the Sportsman-

seeing all these colored eggs and chix made me wanna try coloring some of my brown eggs...hey, that was pretty cool, they died real deep and rich. I didnt think brown eggs took color very well but they do.

Yeah, my GD has said she'd like to be a vet, but she also hates school work, heeheehee. Loves animals. The batch of chicks I got had one yellow one in it, I think it's just a Leghorn, but she claimed it as "hers" and named her Sunny. So she has her own chicken at Gramma's now. Love it.

Here's Sunshine (Shilo) with "Sunny":

So, the kids spent the first night outside last night, I checked on them a bunch of times. They snuggled up into a corner but I had to put them in it because they just didn't get it. I let them all out this morning and they ran around most of the day in their "yard", but it was so windy and they were hiding in the corner from the noise, so I put them in the coop with some food/water in the early evening instead of at bedtime. I checked them a few times and they seemed to be having a good time in there, but they settled in for the night right in front of a window. I went back when it was just dark and moved them because I didnt want them to get too cold there!! They are still where I put them. It's not as cold as last night and they are out of the wind so all is good. I still worry about my babies!! :)

I've got lots of coffee in the pot if anyone needs a cup. I had intended to go fishing today but canceled due to the predicted weather. Now as I listen to the forecast for today I should have went. The wind isn't going to be as strong as they said yesterday and the rain now isn't supposed to arrive until after 3pm.

So rather than fish I will be working around the house. Oh well, at least I will get some things done that really need to be accomplished. The work never seems to end but at least I am still able to do it. Hope's stepfather has gotten to the point that he can't do anything without help. Poor old fool is suffering with the onset of Alzheimer's. He now doesn't have the sense that God gave a goose. The scary part is he isn't that much older than I. As irritating as trying to help him is so days I just keep reminding myself that there but for the grace of God go I.

All of the chick pictures that have been posted lately has given me the bug to fire up the incubator and start hatching some chicks. I think I will start with a few Welsummers to have for replacements for some of my aging birds. Hopefully the hatch will go well enough that I will be bringing some pullets to Chickenstock.

Hiya all,

I havent been on here in quite awhile, but here now, spent thde winter in Wa State,

back now in the Harrisville area now, north on Huron shore area.

I am wondering how many here are going to Chickenstock in June?

I will be looking for some chicks, or started birds, Quail D'Anvers, maybe some Mille Fleurs D'Uccles , I have a handful of the Mille Fleurs started.

I am about to start building some outdoor Nella Brooders, in 4' and 8' lengths.

Spring is pretty much here, coolish at night , our flowers are just opening up and lilacs are only leafing out, iris and tulips just coming up and tulips budding. Its a great season, I envy those folks with lilacs blooming now but it will be here , soon.

Enjoy !
