Kinda sad today, i noticed last night that one of my mille chicks is developing crossed beak.
It's not the food, no one else has it and i'm using the manna pro gamebird showbird starter, which has a good nutritional makeup. I trimmed his/her beak to where the top beak point is even with the bottom beak point, and trimmed the corners off so hopefully it won't catch on them and be worse. Her beak is not crossed yet, at this point, it's just gapped a little on the one side.
I read that even if the food has proper vitamin D, they still need unfiltered sunlight to get the D, so i'm going to start putting them outside for a little bit at a time with me. Her momma probably didn't get the proper vitamins, she was a hatchery bird.
I am going to keep trying to trim and hopefully it will grow normal, if it crosses i will have to put her down.
Oddly enough it's not runt, it's one of the bigger ones...
should i feed her yolk or anything, or am i doing all i can?
