Hi! I was wondering if anyone here has any or knows of anyone that has chickens for sale. They would be for 4-H showing. My 3 daughters are looking for some new birds. We are planning on attending a poultry show in Alma this coming weekend, but if I could find some closer I would love it. I am from the Battle Creek-Hastings-Bellevue area. Any suggestions would be lovely! Thanks!

& Welcome! Sorry but I don't have any bantam breeds.

Hey Jaime - Hows the chicks doing? Something got into my Marans pens and killed one of my splash hens that belonged to Big Boy. Moved them all yesterday. What a bummer that was.
So sorry to hear that RBahmer. Do you still have the Icelandics?

Mamabear - Sorry can't help you out. I have Silkies but none to get rid of.

HH - yes I do still have the Icelandics. Wouldn't part with them. What is in my signature is what I have now. I am going to Muskegon on Friday and buying some more d'Anvers, Spithaubens , and Russian Orloffs from Randy. On my way up I am stopping at Jerry's and getting a few blue and blue splash Marans.

Wow, you have peacocks?? It looks like you will have quite the variety there. Have any of the Icelandics gone broody for you yet?

HH - yes I have Peacocks. I think the brown Icelandic is going broody. I left eggs in there and I catch her on them all the time.
Got the culprit that got my splash hen. A raccoon. Live trapped it. Will go bye bye today lol

Rbahmer, sorry to hear about your hen

Hi Mamma Bear, welcome to BYC and the Michigan thread. I should have silkie chicks to bring to Chickenstock, also maybe some D'Uccles if the eggs do well. The cochins I am not sure about, I amy have to raise them up a lot longer to see how they look, but I bought some frizzles on a whim and may bring a few also.

Thanks. What color Silkies do you have as I am looking for a few more. Would like some partridge colored ones and what kind of D'Uccles? I am looking for some porcelain ones.

If I used an English saddle I might windup buying "proper" English riding boots with that little 1/2 heel. Then that could lead to wearing them poofy looking pants. Can't envision riding the range in jodhpurs; they just don't project the proper image. Next I'd probably have to quit wearing a cowboy hat since it wouldn't match the rest of the ensemble. Without my cowboy hat no one would know me. Hell it would probably confuse the dog and she'd bite who she thought was a stranger and I'm not going to beat my dog because you don't like cowboy boots.

Poofy jods on a cowboy - Glad I'd finished the coffee!

I don’t like cowboy boots ON ME! I’m a sucker for a man in cowboy boots and hat. And a really nice burgundy tux, but you wouldn't wear that on a horse. And a side arm or rifle doesn't hurt the image either.
