This chick said "Really, another picture?????" It makes me laugh to see them pose when they're not even fully feathered.

Nice looking serama chicks. Let me know if you ever need more.

I plan on bringing some to chickenstock to sell.

I hope you have gone to the doctor: the tissue looks like it going necrotic and they may have to excise. To stop the poison from continuing to do damage take a nine volt battery with leads coming off the terminals (use some unstripped wire with ends exposed and wrap around terminals ) and shock across the injury. I would do it in a pattern around the wound since it has gotten so large. The electricity breaks down the poison. It wont heal the wound but will stop further spread.

It could also be a viral or bacterial infection like mrsa, or even a parasite, though, so really, go to the doctor!!

Has anyone's chicken ever freaked out over a box?? Gee-sh, mine totally did. I'm getting ready to clean out the coop. I took a cardboard box & added some shavings to it so they have a place to nest in the pen. I start to go into the pen and Holy Moly....chickens running scared everywhere! They were acting like I was Godzilla. At first I thought it was my DH's black hat, he takes it off & then I proceed to enter again and total craziness all over. They ran everywhere, as far as they could from me. DH said they seen the box & thought I came to get them for freezer camp! lol I hope they warm up to it & use it for I've closed the coop off to them and I know I have 6 or 7 that need to lay yet. I also put a milk crate in there so no one was fighting & they didn't blink an eye at the crate. The box is big enough that 2 can comfortable sit in there. Crazy dumb chickens.

Nice pictures everyone!

Taprock....very cute cartoon!

It's beautiful outside and I hope everyone enjoys some time outdoors today.

Well, I lost a family member last night. My little Cocker Spaniel died of old age. I knew it was coming just hard to accept is all.

Sorry to hear this...

Pets become so much a big part of the family dynamics that it's just as difficult when one passes away as if it was human member. Hope the rest of your day goes well otherwise.

Sorry to read of your loss. I know that with Daisy being 16 I will be facing the same in the near future. Never easy to face. They give us so much unconditionally.
