Maybe your little roo is related to Ms. Waffles, the chick who's gone broody...haha

What was I thinking? In the past five minutes the puppy has: attacked the laundry rack, tried to chew his way through the window, stole food literally out from under the nose of our dog whose mouth is as big as the puppy's whole body, humped DH's tennis shoes, played tug 'o war with my rug (my rug that is 10'x7'), played tug 'o war with the blinds on the sliding glass door, chewed on six chair legs and one mission style table, ran off with a flip flop, ran off with a paper grocery sak, tried to run off with the front door mat, annnnndd bit the Schnauzer's butt. These are only the things he's done in the past five minutes that required correction/redirection. The other 40% of his time is spent attacking/chewing on/playing with his actual toys and running full tilt around the house. It's like having a tiny, ball of black and white energizer bunny.
Congrats on the hatchlingBig Acre in Davison has lots of chicks in.
Moe has hatched out one tiny lil chipmunk bantam. 3 eggs to go.
Anyone looking for some hens? We want to thin out our chicken population. They are about 8 weeks old. I have a mix of NH reds, leghorns, isa and barred rocks. About 110 total. I have a few cockerels too. Send an e-mail to [email protected] if you're interested. I'm located in Lapeer County. Thanks!
Nova, feel better soon. I am fighting a migraine too... from lack of sleep. My excedrin is not working today. At this time, there are 61 more posts to read, and I just can not do it. I got thru 2 pages... and well. I just can't do it. SO, maybe in a few hours. I cheated, bought a pizza. I don't have the desire to cook or eat right now.

I was wondering the same thing. My other chickens certainly don't like newcomers as much as Waffles does. I think it's a little odd but it also makes me love her more. She is still SO small, about the size of a 3 week old "normal sized" pullet. So her trying to tuck all those chicks under her is not only impossible but hilarious. I'm DYING to know if my 2 baby d'uccles are male or female. They are 2 weeks old now.Whew! had me worried for a minute........... i'm glad i didn't scare you guys off! Yes, this is quite a surprise. I wonder if this breed matures faster than usual? I am probably in for quite a time, though, i was hoping if my rooster "raised" these chicks like he did the ones i got before he might accept another rooster. Gonna be hard if the chick is ALREADY acting roosterly, lol.
Agreed.haha...I always feel awkward when it gets 'quiet' after I've posted. I'm still here!
The Banty Shanty love it! and it totally makes me have a durh moment. We got rid of a dog shed last year that would have worked great for such a purpose! Oh well that darn hindsight, lolMy problem is I haven't met an animal that isn't adorable![]()

The coop is completely sided now and painted...I ended up not doing the obnoxious blue...I know some of you will be happy. Haha We had a bunch of light blue siding from my dad and it was enough to do the entire thing so in the interest of being sick to death of working on that coop I'm thinking light blue looks fabulous! Maybe I'll paint this summer if I really feel like it.
I've also decided to re-purpose a small dog shed my mom has and I'm going to use it for all my bantams. It's going to have a completely secure run, top and all so nothing happens to them. We're going to name it "The Banty Shanty"![]()
Time to go but the kiddos to bed and then wash the dogs, who decided to roll in something humans don't find appeal.![]()

If any of my Emu eggs failed to hatch, would you like to have the eggs?
I wish I could use Emu eggs, but they don't work for pysanky. But thanks so much for the offer!!!
