As always you guys are a hoot! Things got pretty riled up here for awhile.
Juise, your kids are freaking adorable! The only story I have for today to add to the "kids are awesome" is how my son insisted there were bear tracks all over his room this evening. He proceeded to hide in my neck and curl up in my lap. So I roared at the bear (waking my exhausted husband) and then had him tell the bear to go away. Apparently it worked and he is geeked with himself and how he made it go far away.
Opa, it happens to all of us at one point or another.
Nova: Awesome chicken complex!

I love it. Personally I would pay someone to help build a coop next time since my husband works so danged much. Poor thing leaves before 6am, hauls thousands of pounds of syrup/sugar/etc, rolls back home 11 hours later and then hears me start throwing coop plans and pestering him about getting things done. He's decided next time he will just pay someone to help. He fell asleep at the dinner table and now I feel like a bad person for being so stressed.
Raz: How big are the ducks now? A couple weeks? Mine have just exploded in growth, burning through food fast.
We have a duck house! Its just a triangle 2x4x2 until I get the pen finished tomorrow but they were able to leave the garage pen. In addition to the little house for night time they will have a 5x10 pen to play in until the afternoon when I can sit and watch them play in the kiddie pool. In the next two weeks we'll open the little house up and make it a bit bigger then add about 50 more square feet so they have a sizable pen. We made folding doors closed with a heavy latch wired tight with 1/2" hardware cloth stapled to the bottom so it should be pretty predator proof. After seeing coon prints everywhere I am going to check on them now before I head to bed.
By Sunday afternoon I should have a coop but the chickens are much happier to be settled in the garage pen.
Have a good night all!
