Heck no. I checked at Meyer hatchery and for the pullets they sell, they charge anywhere from 7.70 to 8.50 depending on the variety. And of course, you'd pay shipping on top of that. If I were you I'd ask for $9 and let them talk you down to $5 so they can feel good. Assuming it was $5 you asked for originally.
Is $5.00 a high price for a laying hen (vaccinated) just under a year old? Someone wanted to buy a few from me and though that was too high. I didn't even get in to telling them what I have paid for chicks and hatching eggs!
I am totally TOTALLY PO'd at Net10 today. I found out that they have deactivated my phone for the 3rd time in 2 weeks even though I have 1500 minutes and 98 service days left!!

I have to go next door to borrow the phone as we no longer have a land line. Then I get to argue that NO my zipcoded is NOT in Arkansas. It is in MICHIGAN. DO YOU HEAR ME? MICHIGAN. For some bizarre reason they keep giving me an AR zip then say to themselves "well, she can't use that phone in MI since she lives in AR so we'll deactivate it.

So I am looking for a pay as you go plan from a real company, though I've had Net10 for 3 years with no problems till now.

Anyone like anyone in particular? I'm looking at T-Mobile right now, they have a 10 cent/minute plan. that looks reasonable. No idea how good their coverage is up here. I refuse to get a contract.

Did you know if you scratch a skunk's belly, his hind leg twitches like a dog's does?

I'm waiting for the delivery people to bring my new counter top. I hope they got it right. I won't know for sure until I gut the old counter and cabinets.
But since I'm "hosting" a picnic on Sunday, I'll have a few helpers. Right, ladies?

Demolition was always the fun part of the job!

I think at & t has a pay as you go plan. I've had them for years and never had any issues (we also have contracts). My zip and town don't always exist with some shipping companies... they can never seem to find us.

well, I got about 6 yarrow plants moved after work yesterday. Man those things have a strong odor. I gave them a good helping of rabbit manure and water, along with several of the small pines and a tulip poplar tree I have around the yard. I decorated the mini coop, picked up the flowers at lowes for .75cents ea! Red, white n blue! I mulched a lily by the coop with pine needles, and did some weeding in my flowers. I have 4 more yarrow to move tonight and a couple lavenders as well. Boy, I sure do enjoy having that mule to help haul stuff around. I'm getting a lot more done at night!

Got my chores done and everyone buttoned up for the night after it got dark, I came in and made DH's lunches for work, goulash, yum! Since I had left over noodles, I opened a jar of our home canned chicken soup .... DH hadn't had it yet. He got home on the bike at midnight and was cold so I gave him some of the hot soup... I think he was surprised how good it was, and said ALL the chickens are going into soup to be canned (well, not all of them)!! He thought it was awesome!! So I'll be doing chickens and making more soup this weekend I guess! LOL!

As far as the hostas, I have about 12 feet worth of plants. I'm only going to keep one of them for myself so, Nigellas I can bring you a few more than 3 if you want! I guess it will depend on how well they break up into clumps. So, PM me your address and the time that will work for you on Monday. The rest I will bring to CS.

Sure why not... I helped gut a bathroom, hang green board and cement board, mud and tape, lay tile, paint...

It seems every time you gut a project, you find that more work needs to be done. Bathrooms and kitchens always have water damage of some kind. So that entails more work. I quit doing re-models for people just because of that.

You quote a job with the caveat that repairing any damage will cost more but most people don't want to pay for what they can't immediately see.

But the counters are here! Let the sawdust fly!

I suppose it's possible that there could be a contract out there with someone that is fairly cheap compared to other contracts but with net10, sure I pay 10 cents a minute (except I buy 1500 minutes at a time for 100 bucks which I think is equivalent to 7.5 cents per minute and is a 6 month plan. So for me, I pay $200 per year for 3000 minutes. Total, no monthly charges, no activation fees, etc. What's that? About $15 per month? I don't use it for going online just calls and texts, texts are 2.5 cents each. I have yet to find anything that cheap. and the phone with a qwerty keyboard cost me $30. If it wasn't for this idiocy they've started up I'd be perfectly happy. And I'm at my neighbor's now, on hold for 48 minutes now. I'm about to give up.

Still not finding anything good on the big carriers for pay as yougo. Verizon has 1 crappy phone qwerty phone, t-mobile has no coverage up here, checking at & t next.

Sprint. But we have a contract, not sure if they do pay as you go, maybe. No way in H-E-Double-Hockeysticks I'd want to pay 10 cents per minute. I'd be broke!

OH yeah, true, and you couldn't pad the quote to cover the unknown or you'd price yourself out of the job. I had a house that was built in 1867... if we tried to fix one thing, we ended up having to fix everything! We just got to the point where we'd just gut the whole room and start from scratch... The oldest section of the house was on an angle, so when we re did it, we gutted to the brick n beam walls, then built a squared box within the room (9" off level). After we sold it and built behind the house, the whole basement wall under that section caved in (oooold MI basement) The house stayed put, cantilevered out in the air, not even a crack in the drywall! I should add that the new owner was digging part of the floor out and caused it to cave in.

It looks like my chickens will be eating well for the next several days. In cleaning out the cupboards for the new counter, I found a bag of flour infested with tiny moths and their larvae so I'll bake some "bug bread". Also found a couple of boxes of stale crackers and granola bars.

The dogs are getting the granola bars without chocolate chips. Can chickens have chocolate chips that are in granola bars? They are generic so there aren't many chips in them. I suppose they could go to the squirrels.

Certain says come to mind that seem to exemplify that principal. Many can not be used on this forum but one that comes to mind is when Momma's not happy no one is happy. Wow, the mere thought of one person having that much power.
