Uh, oh! I am on Raz's skunk list!

BFM, I have frequently heard / read that, too, I think you were misinterpreted.

This is the site I most often use with little bunnies. Wild cottontails are quite a bit different than domestic rabbits. Here is the section about mamma poop:

I'm sorry I don't get to meet you this weekend! Hopefully we won't actually have to wait a year. Cute chickies and cute little boy.

That is the exact link I posted for her...Great minds...
My moms bday is the 9th and mine is the 19th
You better watch out for all us Geminis

As long as I'm posting I'd like to caution everyone about selling or giving away roosters on Craigslist.
People are sick...

It's not the brooder I was referring to. It's the dozens of chickens that you plan on bringing home.

Uggos are fine and the slave labour is a bonus. But if you think I am your waiter...

Um, "ginger ale" is Mickey Redmond code for beer.
I was actually excited about the thought of real Ginger Ale. lol
That would make a really nice habitat for button quail! You could see them and the dust would stay inside the tank and it is high enough that they won't bump their heads when they jump up. I would put pine shavings in that and a pair of button quail!
Our vet office has quail in a tank like this - it's really cool. :)

The chicks learn real quick to watch out, especially when mama starts scratching for goodies.
On the first day out with mama, one of the Faverolles chicks got too close while Mama was scratching for bugs. It zoomed by about 2 feet and landed with a thud on it's back. I was really worried for about a half a second until it popped right back up and ran back to mom. I swear baby chicks must be made of rubber. :)

Good Morning everyone...

I have my grandson for the weekend- today we are going to the waterpark. In fact, he has been ready to go since six am. I told him we first have to take care of Great Grandma- and see what she wants me to make her for dinner...and in the wisdom of a three year old, "Lets just take her with us".
No concept of understanding that an 85 year old has no desire to go to a water park..lol.

Crowing.

There is a crower in my backyard...a very tiny squeak. I tried so hard to identify who it was- but all I came up with is its one of the white or black ones.
So let me reiterate-
I have not sexed these chickens. If I had a clue, Id share. But I don't know. If you take em and end up eating them, thats fine with me.

I was out there trying to identify the crower that squeaks when I am NOT in their yard..and Chimichanga let loose with his huge zombie crow that actually chokes him at the end..and Brenden, my grandson, says, "That ONE Dramma!!!!!!!...thats the one doing it!!!!"...

Well, he WAS right.

My hubby has a new love- he loves the ones "that hang out on the coop roof with the dots all over them and the fluffy feet".."Those are some cool chickens".

He has gone to the top of "the thumb" to pick up a trailer for his brother. BIG 37 ft trailer. He wont be home until tomorrow. If any of you see a fifth wheel hauling a huge trailer down the highway- or stuck in a ditch somewhere...wave and say hello.

They will take any FREE animal and some are even willing to pay small amounts for bait animals. Please make sure your roosters are going to a good home or to someone who will kill them humanely for dinner and not into a dog or cockfighting pit where they will be ripped apart and suffer.

The dog fighters usually have alot of cash, and there has been testimony from some 'reformed' fighters that tells of them pretending to be a great family home, and having no problem dropping fifty/hundred dollars for a dog that looks like it would be "fun to use".
One girl told of her boyfriend who paid 125 dollars for a dog, just to see if his pit could take it. Free ones are used as their sacrifice dogs- for training.

Its very sad, and very scary. We had one "rescue" that brought a dog to us to be stitched up...one too many times. Same dog. Same story- got into a fight with another dog at the foster home. New scars and new wounds every time it came in. We turned them in and we 'fired them'. Their story just had too many holes in it. They were indeed a 'rescue'...as a front. Really, they were part of a dog-fighting ring.

Home checks/follow up visits and adoption contracts and a bunch of hope and prayer- when rehoming. Thats what I recommend. I kept Yogi and my stepdaughter has his sister- because when I brought them home at birth, I couldnt trust that I would be able to find someone who would keep them forever. I was too scared that I would rehome these pitbulls and at some point, the new owners would no longer keep them and THEY would rehome them. I didnt want to save these babies just to have them end up as bait or fighters.

I was once upon a time, before children, involved with a rescue group that got a mutt dog from a fight house. She was bred and her pups were taken from her to teach the fighting dogs to kill..to want to really go for blood. Mama dog was chained up with a dog house near the fight area- poor thing. She heard what happened to her pups one by one. That story made the paper, in a small blurb off the front page, long ago.

The world is a scary place.

Northern Black Widow Spider (Latrodectus variolus)

And Juise wanted to give me one for a pet... Yes, that is exactly what she was trying to do.

I think I liked being ignorant, I don't mind spiders, often put them outside instead of killing, but Black Widow's, They would have to go

My ex son in law had a pet tarantula, He thought it was funny when it would get lose,....think his new girlfriend made him get rid of it

Have a great day all, supposed to be HOT,,, got to go do some visiting

It's kind of like chicken math....

2 Quarter Horses = about 1900 pounds,
but
1 whole miniature horse and 1 whole miniature donkey = 700 pounds

Anyone here have experience with Peacocks?

My 600 pound pony THINKS he weighs 1100 pounds

I believe Farmerboy has Peacocks

Axeing is the best way. I eat most of my culls, even modern games (not hens), unless they are really good quality and I just dont have room for them. They taste good, but their legs always get overcooked because they stick up so far.

Shamrock, have you ever tried to spatchcock your roasting birds? It is really easy and produces a much more evenly cooked bird, as well as reducing the cooking time.

This is one of the reasons I never got involved with dog breeding - once those pups leave your home, you have no control over what happens to them.

Perhaps you can redeem yourself, if you can show me how to bathe a baby skunk.
Do you want me to bring some shampoo?
