I got a case for ya'll to solve! So get your deerstalker and pipe out!
I got a WHITE egg this morning. Not such a light blue that it appears white. Or so lightly tinted brown it is white. White! Like, if I put it on a piece of printer paper, it matches, white.
The suspects: Four Araucanas hens, Two Black Copper Marans hens, One Black Austalorp hen, one olive egger pullet (Araucana x BCM), and one young Araucana pullet.
My cuckoo Araucana and the Austalorp both laid a normal colored egg yesterday. The two Marans are busied with motherly business, one with chicks, one hoping wooden eggs become chicks. That leaves the three Araucana hens and the pullets. Two of the Araucana hens both finished a stint in the broody buster. One has never been broody, but has either been hiding her eggs, or not laying.
So who done it?
Oh, so I can catch the culprit red vented, I am setting up my game camera on the nest boxes, once I get fresh batteries.
