Anyone on here interested in a "free to a good home" Silver Duckwing OEG, cockerel? My pullet is clearly not, lol. He is about 10 weeks old and needs to go before he gets loud (neighbors will not be happy.) Thanks!

I don't want your roo, but wanted to say I love your avatar. I never noticed it before. I render our own lard from our hogs... good stuff, none of that partially hydrogenated junk.

Ok, I am several hundred posts behind. I have been trying to read here and there when I can to keep caught up, but I keep getting farther behind. Maybe I can catch up later, but I am going to my parents' this weekend, didn't go last because they became horrifically ill just before we left. So I froze the cupcakes and unpacked. I hope they are still edible. First of all, and most importantly...

Oh, wonder if we can still get Juise to screen print a bunch of Ts for us for ChickenStock 2012. LOL I mean, its only a week away.

WHAT!? I can't believe this!! I had it on the calender for this weekend!!! How could I be so daft!! Omg. I thought it was tomorrow morning. Frickin... WORDS! Argh! I just finished potting up Mom2's plants!! They'll never make it! I am going to have to figure something out... maybe PM Nigellas. Omg words just cannot express... I told you guys I am bad with time, right? Really bad. My husband is going to stab me. I might just not make it on account of being dead.

Aside from that, Mom, I have milkweed, sedum, lily of the valley, and moss all potted up for you. I also have a whole bunch of little variegated hosta starts for whoever wants them. they are all in two pots at the moment, but I can split them up if need be. I also have a small amount of something groundcovery I though you might like, Mom, but I don't know what it is. Anyway, did I forget anything?

Sorry I am so far behind. I did see that Nova lost some chickens...

I'm sorry, Nova, I would love to volunteer to help you with your tractor, but I am not sure how much help I would actually be on account of the two small mammals having to be with me. Also, I read you asking about lettuce, no idea if anyopne answered you, but yes, if you have the right lettuce, you can grow it now. I grow a couple types of romaine and spinach all summer long. Make sure they are heat hardy.

Going to a beekeeping workshop in a few weeks, maybe I had better check that date...

Also, screenprinting, heck no! I believe I stated at least a month or more ago that if I was going to make them I would have needed to know then, lol! I build my frames, stretch my screens, hand paint the screens, and do all of the printing myself, and it takes time. If all I had to do was screenprint, it would be more than possible, however time is something I don't have much of. XP

My Buff Orp.. is broody again. I want to experience having a hen do the deed, so to speak. Would like fertile eggs to put under her. Want Wellsummer OR Speckled sussix OR Barred  Rocks. Want Only six eggs which I believe will provide us with one  (or more) pullets allowing for no shows and males. I thought we had some lined up but that didn't work out. PM me asap please. I'm thinking HH, Rjen, RBahmer, Fuzzy,  I'm going to CS next week but hesitate to wait till then to put the eggs under her. I'm in Montague 18 mi N of Muskegon. Will drive to pick up eggs.  Thanks

Check with Hillbilly Hen, she is in Newaygo and has beautiful birds

Thought I would share some pictures of a partridge showgirl (with bowtie) that came out of my hatch from last week. She's a pretty little thing! We don't have a partridge breeding program going on right now...but I think we might start one just so we can keep her!

She was supposed to be yours but Hannah has put her foot down that she has to stay. So whenever those Partridge chicks you got from me start producing eggs I'll need to hit you up for some chicks so we can start a patridge coop.

I don't particuarly (sp?) like showgirls but I sure would have taken that one. No problem with chicks once they get big enough. I have a partridge rooster coming .

Hey Jen - what about your friend up by Potterville? She still getting rid of her Partridge Silkies ? I haven't heard from her.

Also, I just put 6 Silkie eggs from those beautiful buff's I bought in the incubator the other day. You interested in them ? The adults are just beautiful.

Our Roost - Hi neighbor in Freesoil! I'm across US31 in Grant twp. We're just finishing our coop and are on the lookout for some young hens/pullets. If you know of anyone nearby who wants to sell a few please let me know. I'd highly appreciate it!
Not too picky about breed, friendly future egg layers are all we want.
