VJ - that is what I did. Opened a window and a door and got the air flowing through with a small fan.
Also, running water on the coop with a hose or putting some ice water jugs inside it sounds like it would help also.

Our hen got broody and wanted to spend her days setting in the coop. But it was 90-100 degree in there so I had to block her out. Our run is in the shade and breeze so with cold water and cold watermelon that was a best place to ride out the heat. Just have to make sure they always have shade and water.
Yes, so far our coop topped out at 100 degrees! That's with the person door open, the 4x3 foot window that has nothing but hardware cloth on it, another small window open and the cupola! Clearly I need something else to clear out the heat.

For those of you who intend to use fans in your coops, make sure that you can access it. The dander for chickens can plug up a fan in an incredibly short time. I have mine mounted so that I can occasionally blow it out.

Should've checked the weather before washing a load of laundry, so much for trying to be proactive and getting it outside before it got hot

Do you have barn cats? We have 5 outside cats that kill, unfortunately, everything...squirrels, voles, mice, rabbits, chipmunks, birds. They climb TREES and take things out of nests too. And yea, they always have cat food available.

No, no, no.

1) They'd just be living squeak toys for the dogs.
2) Cats are nasty, rotten things. Pee and poo wherever the heck they want. I like my garden fresh tomatoes without a side of toxoplasmosis, thankyouverymuch.

We used to have a house cat, he was a good boy. I'm convinced he -- and cats like him -- are the exception rather than the rule. We've tried four other cats in the past 7 years or so and none of them have worked out -- every last one either peed or pooped where it shouldn't. I don't like cats to begin with, so I'm not inclined to give any more a chance. I'd rather feed a legion of voles than smell cat pee or find cat poo buried in my garden.

Hopefully, there is still time to plant more green beans.

Plenty.

Got a little sky tinkle this morning... I was hoping, still waiting for a good down pour to wash away the chicken poopoo.

everyone is still sleeping in my house. I have been up for a few hours, got the kitchen and bathroom cleaned. Now I just need to find some sort of something to make cleaning around the base f the potty and the floor easier. Having three penises in the house with no proper direction makes for a pissy time...
