I was "Night Of The Dance" by James Hime A good read, the first in a series, about a retired Texas Ranger, but not for those who might me offended by language that isn't politically correct.

Which is exactly why Chickenstock is such a great thing. It allows us to put names and faces together. Sometimes folks look nothing like we had envisioned. In my case I'm sure I appear just as imagined.............OLD.

I just spent an hour being interviewed by a reporter for the local paper. She admitted to knowing nothing about chickens and was amazed at how they came running when called and lined up to be petted (groped). She also liked the various sizes and colours of the eggs.

(It just dawned on that I should have given her a dozen

)

She also had a photographer come out as well. Some of the shots were posers that I thought was kind of funny. I wonder if Fabio got started that way. At least I was wearing a BYC t-shirt.

Now I'm anxious to see how the article gets written. I think it will be positive.

Decided to show off my 11 week old chickens. I start snapping photos and one of my Blue Andalusian hens decides to get in the way to take a closer look at me.



So I head to the other side and then another BA hen decides she wants to see what's going on.

And somewhere I read these birds are flighty and skittish. Couldn't tell that by these two.

I managed to get one so-so photo of some of the flock. They really didn't want to cooperate and show their best sides,they were more interested in the grass outside the fence and the grass I tossed onto the ground.


Look at the size of those Golden Buff males! They're going to make a nice meat bird I think. Almost a shame not to keep one but I've got other roos I'm already keeping from the BAs and some of the 2 week old chicks in the brooder. I'm hoping the hens will be laying some eggs in a few weeks, I've missed fresh eggs and the cackling and crowing. At least one of the BA roos has learned to crow, sort of a 3 syllable question so far. Haven't heard a peep out of the big GB roos.

Anyone want a splash Blue Andalusian roo? I've got 2 and am not planning on keeping either. They'll be dinner otherwise. That's one with the gray legs next to the GB roo.

PM me if you do, I'm bringing a couple of the BA roos to one lucky Michigander next Saturday. I'm sure I could squeeze another into the cage. (Don't worry, it's not that tight a squeeze)

Swamp, they are just so beautiful!!! How am I ever going to get any work done? I am trying to sew for CS and all I want to do is play with my 6 week old chicks.

Mom 2em all, Oh my God what is wrong with people? Tell your Mommy she can move next to me and she can feed the birdies all she wants and I will take care of her snow and leaves and whatever else. I just don't understand people sometimes. Don't they have anything better to do with their lifes? Now I am mad whats their address? Me and my dog will go pay them a visit.

True! You know this is the first time it's happened though, so I guess that's a pretty good track record. I think I've either met in person or seen pictures of pretty much everyone else I'd kind of "formed a picture of" in my head and they all fit pretty darn close.

That's not a bird bath, it's a water-filled gazing bowl. The one over there is a decorative fountain. Give the birds a citation for misuse of garden decorations.


Well, here's something nice.

Glambka has donated two prizes for the Chickenstock raffle that I'll bring Saturday:


She is always looking for eggs, especially turkey eggs so if anyone has some to give I'll bring them back for her.

These are just beautiful!! I want one.

I will be 55 in July, yea. I wasn't suppose to make it this long or so the doc's say, the dummies. Thanks for the wishes, hubby gave my a pedicure and a massage at A Cut Above, yea!
