They have been pretty good as far as the honkin goes. Yesterday when I was going to tell the neighbor about the geese, I said "Guess what I got!!" He said "Oh no now what??" I told him before i tell you I want you to know I'm re-homing some ducks so the noise will equal out lol. He loved them! He said the noise doesn't bother him because he can't hear it from inside his house.

They get along GREAT with each other!! I have no doubt the disabled one is a female. She always has to be near the male at all times.

Earlier today I had them in the play area again. Twice he got startled and jumped out. After the 2nd time since we were sitting out there I left him out to see what he would do. He paced back and forth, checking out the big ducks, the pigs and the little ducks. Well, I cleaned out the little pool and I was adding new water and suddenly he went crazy trying to get in there. He reminded me of a baby in a crib, shaking the railing trying to get out. He was shaking the door trying to get in that pool!

So I let the other two out since Aric was out there with me in case things went crazy. He then got out an old pool that the ducks didn't like and that was like I gave them a new toy to play with!!

So things here are great! I'm pretty sure the disabled one is a female the way she acts around him!
Awesome!!

Snowflake, a few days ago you asked to see a photo of my d'uccle roo, so here is Roobity-doo

He is such a character. Tonight my daughter and I were watching them from our deck and he kept scuttling back and forth and looking up at us. He'd make his little squawks and try to get up to us, but never quite made it.

My Du'ccle's are super sweet, too. Sometimes i will take a nap out on the lawn chair, and the other day i woke up covered in them! lol.
The little porcelain trio seems to think it is great fun to take naps on my chest with me. The "boys" (the millie roos) often chase me all around, just to see what i'm doing.

The EE babies are getting big now! Around 2 months old. They are sweet like their momma so far. Daddy roo is pushing buttons since i brought in the new hen, but now i can move forward with my project this spring!

I just have to figure out if i am going to need a banty cochin or a big one..... Going to depend on if "blue" gets big like his poppa or stays small like his momma.

just read in BACKYARD POULTRY, TEFLON COATED LIGHT BULBS ARE TOXIC TO CHICKENS
Yes, I guess they safety coat them to make them shatterproof.
I assume the ones from the feed store or pet store for animals are safe.

I heard of our local zoo using bulbs from the hardware store in a bird aviary and all the birds died from the fumes of the teflon coating on the light bulbs. So you would not want to put a teflon coated light bulb into a coop!

Like I said - I try to get bulbs from the feed store or pet store.
