"Micro-eggs" attached to normal egg?

This is just plain weird: retrieved an egg yesterday that has a patch on its shell made of hundreds of small spheres. They can be scraped of with some effort but are pretty tight to the shell. Anyone have experience with this?


 
I would think calcium deposits, which are pretty normal, but those all look so round and uniform. What is their consistency?
 
Pretty much the same consistency as shell, Yay, and I did the cracking, Loopy. Thanks for the feedback all of you
