Mid January Hatch thread....

Suzeqf, that would be sooooo frustrating!!! I would feel like Christmas was canceled!.

I know that quite a few of us here have half sister/brother chicks from Hot2Pot. Ambrosia just started a thread for us to keep in touch, like a big family reunion. If you have her chicks, go post on her thread so we can compare! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...chick-thread-chick-brother-sister-chat-a-long

I was a bit disappointing I had fuss and fretted over her when it was super cold and checked on her and even insulated her kennel so the chicks wouldn't get cold and freeze and then nothing happened but at least it's warmer this week and when the chicks do hatch they won't freeze

Grrr... 2 more hours to go and son is at work now. No more updates for me. Have to wait till I get home. Any guesses on what I'll find?

45 more minutes!!!!

I bet you'll find one mostly zipped, and a bunch of pips.

That is my hope sphinx! Some action but not so much that I'm disappointed. This is my first hatch in a incubator (have done a couple broodies). I want to be there. Have about 30 more miles to go. Should have figured out a way to do a webcam lol

My dates weren't off I have two peeps and two more pipping and they are so cute they are silkie/rumpless aracona crosses it's going to be interesting to see what the other two look like since i have two silkies and different boys like them these two belong to Liza and Spot. I'm going to check on the other two at 6 and the two big eggs belong to my turken hen and should hatch in a few days. these little guys have 5 toes just like their mom but the coloring of their dad

Well, I put mine on lockdown on day 16. Yes, I know, to early. Well, here it is day 18 and I have two pips and 4 rockers. These eggs are notorious for hatching on day 19... ;)

I am dancing around like a little girl. My 8 and 10yr olds are looking at me like I am a moron. This is my first "successful" incubator hatch. My first round with an incubator was with 56 bantam Cochin eggs and a tempermental LG that also endured power outages, temp spikes and humidity issues. I lost all 56 eggs. Second round was with 15 shipped eggs under a broody. Nine hatched. This time I started with 24 shipped eggs, 18 made it to lock down!

Come on, babies! Mommy wants to see you!
